“Wait so James is not your father?” Roxie asked, after they filled her in on what they had talked about when she was upstairs changing
“Nope” Lexi told her
“How come you two knew about this and I didn’t?” she asked Jared and Noah
“I thought you did” Jared told her
“How you two find out?” she asked
“I heard James told Lexi” Jared stated
“Jared told me” Noah declared
“and why didn’t that get to me, I’m always the last one to know everything” Roxie expressed
“Sorry I thought Lexi told you” Jared apologized
“How could she tell me she was walking with you the entire time and I was with Noah?” Roxie asked
“I don’t know you are girls somehow you tell each other everything across the room with just one glare” Jared asserted
“He is right girls are eerie like that” Noah told Roxie
“Sorry Roxie I guess it was my job to tell you since we are eerie” Lexi said for the first time since the argument began
“It’s okay I was a long night last night, how was the cake?” Roxie changed the subject
“I haven’t had time to eat some” Lexi told her
“Then what are you waiting for come on lets go get you some og your cake” Roxie began to dreg Lexi to the dining room when Noah jumped in front of them and blocked their path
“I have a better idea why don’t we go out to eat breakfast; you know any good restaurants around here?” Noah asked Lexi
“Noah get out of the way, we’ll go for breakfast after she eats some cake” she shoved him out of the way
“Why leave what we can do right know for later right, so Lexi where is the restaurant we are going to go to?” he blocked their way again
“Noah we are not going to go eat right now, Lexi is going to eat some of her cake then we’ll go” Roxie shoved him again
“Noah just let them go; if you are that hungry go get some leftover pizza from last night” Jared told him
“She can’t eat cake” he yelled
“Why not?” Roxie asked puzzled
“Cause I might have ate all of it” Noah announced
“You what?” Roxie asked angered
“Don’t worry i-” Jared began
“Why won’t we worry we bought Lexi a cake and this fat-ass eats it all” she yelled
“But-” Jared began again
“Jared don’t be defending him, he-” this time she was interrupted by Jared
“Shut up and let me talk for goodness sake woman” Jared screamed
“Fine then talk” Roxie snapped
“I knew Noah was going to eat it all so I saved her a piece it’s in the oven” Jared said
“Then get it so she can eat it” Roxie ordered. Jared went over to the oven he opened the lid and took out the cake.
“Here” Jared handed Lexi her cake
“Thank you” she took the cake and went to sit in the table
“You might need this” Noah handed her a fork
“Thank you” Lexi took the fork and began to eat
“Want to go get some breakfast now” Lexi asked them
“Hell yea” Noah jumped off his seat and began to walk toward the door. Lexi went to waiting room and got her mom’s credit card from where she had left if before.
“So how is your foot?” Jared asked
“Look” she said jumping and spinning on her leg, then added, “it got fixed”
“I can see” he told her.
“We were going to leave and meet you in the restaurant but I don’t know where it is at so we waited” Noah told them as Lexi and Jared walked out of the house
“I know you would leave” Jared told him. They walked in silence to the restaurant. They walked three blocks until they reached the restaurant. Jared opened the door and Noah ran in. Roxie followed then Lexi and finally Jared. They sat at the table and the waiter brought them their menus.
“Morning my name is Ever, I’ll be your waitress for today” the waiter said and then left.
“So what is good here?” Roxie asked
“Um, everything” Lexi said
“Here is your water” the waitress said as she set a glass of water in front of everyone, then added, “what would you like to drink?”
“Apple juice” Lexi said
“Two orange juices” Roxie ordered for her and her brother
“Orange juice” Jared ordered
“I’ll be back in a few” the waitress said and left
“Why did she bring us a glass of water if we were going to order a drink?” Noah asked confused
“They always serve water along with the drink of your choice” Lexi explained
“Are you guys ready?” the waitress asked with a notepad on her hand and a pencil in the other
“Yeah, I would like French toast, a rare steak, and a bowl of fruit” Lexi ordered
“A medium rare steak, and a poultry pie” Noah ordered
“Some pancakes” Roxie ordered
“Some blueberry waffles” Jared ordered
“Okay, they’ll be ready in a few” the waitress said while she wrote the last of the orders
“So how do you plan to find your dad?” Roxie asked
“I don’t know doesn’t the establishment have any kind of records?” she took a sip of the water that was in front of her
“Of course they do, but we haven’t heard about him in the longest” Jared told him
“Do you think he is dead?” Lexi asked
“No of course not, the establishment hardly knows anything about him all we know is that he is very powerful, rich, and if he doesn’t want to be found nobody can find him” Jared informed her
“Okay this just got harder than I thought it was going to be” Lexi told them
