"Roger, repeat the meaning of the flare signs."

"Green: advance. Red: titan. Black: abnormal."

Hazel was reviewing the long distance formation with her whole squad and teaching the little modifications that were made by Erwin and her. The next mission will be in a week and they have started to prepare everything.

Hazel dismissed the cadets so they could get lunch after she assigned the new squads to the current leaders, leaving the testing leaders in second in command of one squad. Everyone started to leave while she gathered the papers on the desk beside the chalk board where she had drawn the distribution. A hand stopped her for taking the last page, she knew that hand without looking at the owner.

"Any problem, Ackerman?" She pulled the page harder, and when she managed to put it with the others, looked up at him who seemed more serious than ever, this disconcerted her.

"Yes, I do have a couple. One will solve in a week." He had approached her while answering, looking straight at her eyes in a seducing way that she couldn't take off her sight from him.

Almost feeling his breath inches from her face, she started to feel the blush in her cheeks and her heart rate increasing. He reached a lock of hair and put it behind her ear, then took a step back lightly smirking for her reaction. Her heart skipped a beat ashamed for let this carried her emotions.

"The other... I want to be the one leading the squad not the second in command. Let me prove I can." He let out a sigh and look to the floor.

"I know you can, but this tis the protocol. Is Erwin's orders." Her eyes showed pity for him.

He took a step ahead again and put his hands over her arms pulling her slightly and speak with determined voice. "Is that so? Well tell Erwin that..."

"Tell Erwin what?" A loud and severe voice came from the door. Levi loosed his hands from her arms and turned to see Erwin with crossed arms over his chest waiting for an answer. "Speak, soldier."

"I want to lead my own squad, I know I can." His face was determined as his voice, he didn't stuttered or showed doubt.

A long silence filled the room, both men were looking at each other. "Levi, I already told you this is protocol..." Hazel felt uncomfortable and tried to give end to the sight challenge they were into.

"Hazel, give this man a squad. Let's see how he do it." Erwin interrupted her after gave it a thought. "You can go now, soldier."

Levi left the two higher ups alone, Hazel's face was blank feeling surprised for Erwin's decision but didn't disclaimed sitting in the chair to made the changes. "This will give me troubles with the others, you know?"

"It shouldn't, you are the Section Commander. Besides, I told you to do so."

Hazel didn't went to take lunch in order to arrange the new distribution, she finished just in time to meet her squad at the field gathering the horses.

She was waiting to everyone joined her sitting in her bench until someone handed her the reins of her horse.

"Listen all, there will be a change in the teams."

She gave the announcement of Levi's squad and named the cadets of it, she maintained her serious face when some started to claimed, all screaming. Levi has a little smirk and fade when everyone started to blamed her.

"Why he can have an actual squad and the others under test don't?"

"It's not fair, this is bullshit!"

"What kind of privileges he has over us?"

"Are you questioning my decisions? If it's so, you are welcome to complain with Commander Erwin. Ackerman has shown he is capable to lead, the ones who are against this, what a shame. We are supposed to be a team supporting each other, this is no longer a contest of who's better."

She made everyone shut up and with the new distribution they started to practice the long distance formation.

She dismissed everyone for the day, no one looked satisfied by the fact their performance was impeccable. All were either tired or still distrustful by Hazel's choice of let Levi be already leader.

When she climbed down her horse, the blood dropped to her feet making her dizzy and pale. Feeling unstable in the ground she grab the reins and a pair of hands caught her preventing her to fell.

The cadets that witnessed grew more suspicious seeing the scene of them very close and started to whisper at their backs.

She stabilized her posture backing off from him. "I'm fine, thanks. Take my horse back the stable, Ackerman." She used her authoritative voice. Ignoring the whispers she made an effort to walk straight and whisper to herself. "I'm starving."

Levi heard that and felt guilty for making her change the distribution and if that weren't enough, her squad was gossiping again. He walked back to the stable with both horses and some other cadets behind him.

"So tell us, Ackerman, what did you do to made her give you a squad?"

"Isn't that obvious, they are fucking."

They might were teasing him, while giggling at his back but this infuriated him. He stopped, letting go from the reins, his face could kill a titan from miles away throwing daggers from his cold eyes. Just in time, Roger got beside Levi throwing an arm above his shoulders to ease him.

"Guys, don't be so rude. You know our dear Captain, she wouldn't mess with any cadet and less with him, he is so grumpy for her." Roger used his friendly attitude to made the others let go of the topic, feeling Levi's eyes over him.

"You're right, Rog. She's too cute for him."

They kept walking to the stables leaving the two behind.

"What did you said?" Levi took the reins again getting off Roger's arm.

"You were about to kill them. You don't want troubles now that you're a leader, then how will you impress her?" He made a kinky smile and winked at him, Levi just clicked his tongue to him.
