Dinner passed by without Levi seeing her. He was as usual ignoring the conversation of the table until a cadet called his attention.
"You still looking for her?" He waited for a response for a couple seconds, but Levi just stared at him with cold eyes. "With her new position she should be busy, she might not coming for dinner."
Levi grumped and stood from the table, went for a tray of food from the kitchen and left the mess hall. He was hoping to spend time with her and this was a nice excuse to go into her office. Almost there he made the last turn in the halls and saw Erwin from the opposite direction and stopped his way in her door knocking.
"Good night, Levi." he looked at the tray in Levi's hands. "The mess hall is meant for eat, you know?" He was obviously joking and had a soft smile knowing his intentions. "You're very considerate."
"Yeah, come in!" They heard from inside, but it wasn't her voice.
Erwin opened the door and after him, Levi made his way in too. Hazel was sat in her desk chair with her eyes closed, her sight was covered by Hange who was sat in her desk leaning in her direction focused in Hazel's forehead. An oil lamp was beside her to provide light while stitching the cut. Blood-filled gauzes were all over the desk and the floor, and different antiseptic and medicines bottles were also there.
"This seems like an emergency room, what happened?" Erwin came closer to the desk to take a look and Levi followed.
"Shortie made Hazel fell to the ground while flying with her ODM." Hange voice wasn't annoying and cheerful as always, she sounded severe and angry. Levi clicked his tongue making his presence to be noticed.
"Oh.. look who finally came to see his mess. You're lucky I'm amazing and took care of her wounds." Hange was finishing the last suture, then cleaned up the area in her forehead. "It's done."
Hazel finally opened her eyes and took a look to the sutured wound in a little mirror. "Thanks, Han. It will be a nice scar." She left the mirror and faced Erwin and Levi that were looking at her from across the desk. "Hey what's up?" She was smiling at them.
"I... I bring your dinner." Levi felt awkward, the three higher ups were looking at him. He clumsily left the tray in the desk.
"Thanks, I will take this as a pay in return for you mess." Hange rounded the desk and started to eat the bread from the trail.
Levi took Hange's wrist to stopped her eating the food he bring for Hazel. Both were piercingly looking at each other until Erwin cleared his throat and Hazel interfered.
"Thanks for the food, Levi. It's okay." Hazel let him know that she was fine with Hange taking her food. "It's anything else you need?" He just shook his head, he didn't wanted to tripped in his words again. "Then, you can leave."
The three waited for him to left the office to start talking again.
"You like to tease him, don't you, Han? I thought he was going to cut your hand off for grabbing the bread with those dirty hands of yours." Hange kept eating the food in silence. "How was day one as Commander?"
"Busy, that's all I can say." He took a seat in one of the chairs and let his head hang in the back of the seat. "How about you and the training?"
After chatting a while, both left Hazel's office to let her finish the daily reports. Her guts grumble hours after, making her remember she hadn't eaten and she decided to go for a little midnight snack from the kitchen. There wasn't a lot of variety leaving her to choose an apple and a protein bar.
She made her way back to her office, the curfew was hours ago so nobody should be around, the halls were dim and the only sound was from her feet. Because of that she startled when she saw someone's shadow which was turning into a corner, she followed it to verify the identity of the night walker and if it was a cadet, she will have to scold him or her.
She couldn't scream in order to not wake up the others, so she kept following the person until it reached the door that leaded to the roof.

Levi left her office with his blood running in anger.
"Tch. Gross, how she dares to eat with those filthy hands?"
With his unsuccessful plan of get time along with her, his only option left was to go to the males room and try to rest.
He took a shower before getting ready to sleep. His constant nightmares made him waked up constantly. Haunted by seeing Farlan's and Isabel's dead bodies over and over again every time he tried to sleep, he decided to try clear his mind and left the room to go the last place he had share with his two friends.
Reaching the rooftop, he sat against the stone wall looking up to the sky.
"Aren't you cold?" He heard her sweet voice and a faint smile formed in his face. "You shouldn't be here, Levi." She sat beside him also looking to the starry night.
"Maybe you should punish me, Captain." His voice was faint.
"What makes me remember... you have a pending punishment." She tried to cheer up the mood but he only look at her with a sour face. "I will be busy, maybe I should tell Hange to help me with that." Just trying to provoke him a little.
"Don't you dare, I hate her." He answered immediately. "She's filthy, crazy, noisy, exhausting, bad-mannered and she's always with you."
"And what's wrong with that?" she opened her bar, started to eat it and glance at the sky again.
"Well, Haze, people talk. They say you are a couple."
"Are you worry?" She looked at him and met his confused face. She giggle a bit. "I know about the things they say about me. And you should know, that everyone will talk about how the found us in the forest."
"I wanted you to leave me in the ground before we exit, I was feeling ridiculous." He made a scowl remembering his dumb action that leaded them to fall.
"You did look amusing." With a last laugh, she stroke his hair leaving it messy and stood to leave. "Get inside soon."
He grabbed her hand when she attempted to turn for leave. "Let me go with you."
"Sorry, Levi. We need to keep distance. Good night." She left quickly before she regret it. She wanted him to go with her, but if anyone notice his absence from his room, it would rise suspicions.
