"I'm telling you, Han." Hazel was in her office finishing the paperwork of the week, sitting in her desk chair piling the sheets, almost screaming helplessly. "We haven't spoken in all this time since they arrived. I tried everything and every time, he ignores me or flee away. I think it's time for me to realize that we both grew up and we are not the same we were those years ago."

"He's a grumpy little man. He came here just for the job, but then oh surprise! a very much alive ex-girlfriend is here and she's one of the best scouts... and you are not the same skinny, fragile and pale young girl, you are a women now. Look at you, if I were him I would be head over heels. Does he feel intimidate or guilty? Does he think you are out of his league?"

"Intimidated." She let a loud laugh and look at Hange who was lying down in the coach. "Not even in million years. Guilty. Why would he be guilty about? And we were not couple, I've told you." A knock in the door sound interrupting their talk. "Who is it?" she screamed to be heard.

"Furlan. May I come in?"

"Of course."

Hange jump in excitement and sit with one crossed leg and one arm above the backrest of the couch trying to look cool. "Hello."

"Good evening, ladies." He bowed and giggle at Hange then took a seat next to her making Hange more nervous.

"I'll leave you two to catch up, I need to do my own paperwork" she stood rapidly and flew out.

"I think she likes you, I've never see her so anxious."

"I'm charming, I know" he moved to sit in front of her at the desk. "It's a shame it's not meant to be." He let out a sigh knowing they would leave after the mission which was approaching and they had decided to fulfill their work in that moment. "Are you nervous for the expedition?"

"I'm always nervous when it comes to expeditions. Many people give their lives, anything can happen and no one know what the result will be. I know that you've improved a lot in this weeks, but if you feel like it, you can stay." Hazel reached to hold his hand with concerned eyes.

He smiled widely. "It's comforting to see you haven't change. What does Levi always told you when we went to do our work?"

"That I shouldn't worry for you." She rolled her eyes, of course she heard those words uncountable times before. "Well, this isn't the underground, the titans are very much worse and this is not a work we are in a war against the titans." Hazel make sure to remark the word hoping he reflexed. "You need to focus in what you're doing out there, if your head is fixated in other target it would be the death of you. Give it a thought, what if something happens to Isabel? She's still very young. What if something happens to you, or Levi?" She stopped right there imagining all the possible scenarios in her head.

Furlan seemed to be deep in debate with himself, he was there to get information about the documents and Erwin's frailty, he ended doubting about the whole plan.

"You are finally out the underground, there's no need to keep doing shady jobs. I have to ask you to trust us." Surrounding her desk she kneeled in front of him and took his hands to plead. "Trust me."

"I don't know what are you talking about. Hazel, we'll be fine, just like you all this years. I can't believe what I'm about to say but, don't worry about us." Standing from the chair, he helped her get up. He hid the fear she made him felt by the thought of losing one of them and put on a big smile.

"I know you're not a fool. You should see the bigger picture, why would the scouts recruit three thugs instead of execute them? Don't waste my attempt to rescuing you. Stop running away, stay here with us... with me. I don't want to lose you again."

"You don't know what this people are capable of, we can't just drop it." He was about to leave, accepting the fact of their job.

"And you don't know what the scouts are capable of." He let out a suffocated laugh before leaving the office. Who are the brats, now. At least she could noticed a glimpse of fear and realization in his eyes.

Before the curfew, the three friends were at the rooftop looking at the starry night like every day since they arrived, the only place where they feel free and could talk of their plan. Furlan has told them his chat with Hazel and stayed in silence thinking.

"Are you doubting now?" Levi was looking at his thoughtful face trying to decipher him.

"Drop the job is not an option, that man is powerful. What would happen when he realize we won't do it?"

"If we finish with Erwin and find those documents, Lovof will leave us alone as he promised. We agree to kill him at the expedition so no one would suspect from us, they could blame the titans and he would be focus in his damn formation, doing our target easy."

"And then, we can stay?" Isabel was laid in the cold stone looking up with her eyes wide open, breathing the fresh breeze. "I think I like it here. Besides, she save us, it would be rude to disappear from nowhere."

Levi sighed defeated. "We'll see, I don't think we'll be welcome after this, it seems she knows why are we here, we have to be careful surely Erwin knows too."

Erwin make it clear to Hazel she won't go to the expedition.

"I trust you. I'm just asking for an explanation, Erwin. Why can't it be done before or after the mission, what's the difference? Why it has to be that day?"

"Give it a thought, Hazel. If we deliver the document before, Lovof will tell the judge he hired them to infiltrate the scouts and they will be execute like the original plan. If we deliver the document latter, Lovof will haunt them for not completing their job. If you deliver it the day we go out the walls, Lovof will not have chance to haunt them because he will be doomed by the time we got back, aside, he won't expect it while we're gone and if he try to culprit them, we can say for sure they showed loyalty, bravery and they are a good addition to the legion after all."

"You've thought of every single possibility. I can't thank you enough everything you have done. I will do it."

"Even though they are trying to kill me, youwere right, those three are impressively skillful."
