"That girl over there, is the greatest thing that has ever happened in my life. She was the first who accepted me for who I am. I am aware of how annoying I can be, but she don't care. She was my first real friend, she has save my ass, she is the light in my darkest times, she is my common sense when I want to do something stupid, she care for me, for that and so many much reasons, I CARE." Hange rose her voice bit by bit when she advanced in every word.

"You should saw her face the moment she found out that some thugs of the underground city was causing problems to the Military Police and they asked us for help in order to caught then executed them. She didn't doubted, and gave the idea of recruit them because in the bottom of her heart she knew it was you. Even though everyone at first denied her plan, she was very persistent never giving up, AND EVEN THOUGH you broke her heart and tossed her apart from her home, she wanted to rescue you and Furlan."

Levi was taken aback finding out how she acted after she was exiled and torn apart for him, she still cared for him.

"A spark of happiness I've never saw in her, started to lighted, but also she was worried that you would rejected her again. But I knew it was important for her, so I cheered her up, I was happy because when you finally arrive, that spark would be there the whole time announcing she was truly happy. And what did you do? Ignoring her for a whole month while she believed that you had changed, ready to surrender to the idea of between you two would never be anything. You know what's the worst and where my rage for you came from? She started to felt guilty." She looked at him in a particular way of saying 'I know it's ridiculous'. "But we know how she is..."

"Stubborn." Both said at unison and sighed.

"Right. I know she hasn't told you much, but she needs her meds to keep her illness in control, but if she exceeds her limits we wouldn't like the outcome. Don't give her more excused to overshot herself, that thing about going to kill a fucking abnormal by yourself when she told you to go in to the woods was one of them."

Hange left him there and proceed her searching while he processed her words. Levi was amazed of how much she cared for Hazel, his scowl has vanished listening of the amazing impact she was in Hange's life and somehow empathized. He found the horse in that moment and took the med bottles from the side bag, he looked at them and decided to give it to her. "All yours." He felt a bit stupid caring for her feelings toward Hazel, and doing this kind action not usual for him.

"I found something we have in common." Hange smiled at him genuinely in a gratitude way. "She." Starting to run to where Hazel was she screamed to him. "Good talk, shorty. No hard feelings!"

"Tch, she is crazy." Levi muttered when she was gone.

"Hey, buddy, you're back." Roger was passing by and noticed him. "Let's grab dinner."

Both went and fetched their portion and sat beside a lonely bonfire.

"You don't seem surprise that I'm back."

"It was obvious, the Captain went to help you, she could have kill it by herself. I'm not saying you were a hindrance, but I was sure that it wouldn't be hard for both finish the titan." Levi nodded in acknowledgment.

Rose came and sat along with them moments after with her own dinner. "So are you going to be promoted?" She was looking deep at him with her usual kinky face. Levi didn't give it importance, sure they were starting to talk again about the supposed preferences Hazel give him.

"Give him a break, Rose."

"I'm curious, I heard that all along this was their plan, to everyone follow her orders of evade the titans so you could standing out killing them and then only you will be promoted. What did you do to convinced her?"

Levi left the plate in the ground and faced her with a scowl that made her shiver. "Everything is bullshit. I don't even care about the promotion, I acted by myself. Who's telling this?"

"I heard it from the other squad's soldiers. No one in particular."

"I'll kill the brat who's been gossiping."

The camp was quiet, a few soldiers were making watch and the rest were sleeping. The day had been a success, the losses were no more than ten soldiers, finally the long distance formation has paid off, normally tens of people die by the first day.

Levi waked up abruptly after having his usual nightmare where his friends and Hazel were dead. Denying to go back to sleep he stood and walk around the camp and saw Hazel sat in a cart cleaning her blades. He approached and sat beside her.

"Hey." She said cheerfully in a low voice and put aside the now clean blades.

"Aren't you going to sleep? You need to rest." He took her hand and started to trace the lines of her palm with delicacy and she rested her head in his shoulder looking at what he was doing.

"I was about to but Hange is a deep sleeper." In that moment, Levi heard the soft snoring behind them. He looked back and saw her curled in the cart, cuddling her blades. "I don't want to disturb her, she's less noisy that way." She giggled.

He rolled his eyes. This is how you take care of her?  "I agree, let her sleep. I'll cover you, go and rest."

"But you need to rest too." She remove her head from his shoulder and looked at him concerned.

He intertwined his fingers with hers. "Stop worrying for me, I already slept a bit."

She made a light smile and got off the cart. "Okay then. I'll see you in the morning. Thanks." He pulled her from the hand that was still in his, she was in front of him with her body between his legs looking up to him. He let go of her hand and grab her by the waist getting ready to lean and give her a kiss, she quickly stopped him and spoke in a whisper. "Hange is here."

"She's asleep." He whisper too and growled, then pulled her harder achieving to reach her lips and her losing her willpower placing her hands into his neck and drown in the kiss for a few seconds.

"Good night." After they broke the kiss and he let her go.

"Gross." Levi startled hearing Hange speak with drowsy voice not lifting up from her sleep position.

"Tch. Go back to sleep, idiot." Saying this, she closed her eyes sleeping again.
