58 | Why Lie?

A/N: Extra update for today because I was too excited and I had  way too much coffee!!! Enjoy this chapter and let me know what you think!!

Mia De Martel

I was alone in my dorm room once again. I haven't seen Marlene entered this room since the beginning of the school year. I see her in class but where is she sleeping? Every time I ask her she's avoiding the question.

It was almost dinner, I grabbed my coat and made my way to the Great hall. As I made my way there, a group of slytherins caught my attention, well, he caught my attention. They were leaving the castle.

I made slowly followed them out of the castle and to the forbidden forest. Students shouldn't be going in there. It's bloody called the forbidden forest.

There were five of them. Snape, Mulciber, Avery, Roiser, and Black. Why on earth are they even doing here?

When they stopped, I hid behind a tree, slowly and discreetly peeking at them.

"What on earth are we doing out here, Snape? We're missing dinner." Mulciber said, grumpily.

"They were asking for an update on how Black's mission is going? How is it going, Black?" Snape asked, sternly.

"Relax, I'm handling it." Regulus said, nonchalantly. "Tell them not to worry."

"Are you sure about that?" Avery asked. "Your mission seemed to be awfully close with Potter lately." he sniggered.

"Shut the fuck up, Avery." Regulus hissed.

"What did you just say to me, Black?" Avery asked, glaring at the black hair boy.

"That's enough." Roiser coughed. "We better go back inside before anyone notices we're gone."

I slowly walked away from them before sprinting towards the castle. I only stopped running when I accidentally bumped into someone's back and I fell.

"Mia, are you alright?" Peter asked as he helped me on my feet.

I was panting but I nodded. "I'm fine." I answered.

"Are you sure, Mia? You're shaking." Remus said as he placed his hands on my shoulders.

"It's fine. Let's just go." I said, pulling the both of them away.

What mission were they talking about? I had high hopes for Regulus. Hope for him to have a change of heart but I guess that won't happen. That will never happen.

When we got to the common room, Sirius, Haven, and James were there, looking at the marauder's map.

"Where on earth were you?" James asked in a worried tone.

"I was talking a walk around the courtyard." I lied.

"Don't you dare lie, Amy." Sirius narrowed his eyes at me. "We saw you leaving the castle. With some slytherin gits."

I faked a cough. "That was nothing." I lied again. "I'm going to bed. Good night."

I ran upstairs before they could say or ask anything else. I need to tell my brothers and my uncle what I heard today but I'll do that tomorrow. I need to read father's journal today. Something tells me I need to read it today.

December 3, 1976

My wife and I visited the cottage where my parents were buried the other day. Dumbledore was hoping that father's journals were here but unfortunately they weren't. I have to talk to the man as soon as possible.

I kept thinking about what Dumbledore said the last time we talked, when he told me the possible locations of the journals. "Your father will take that secret to his grave."

I closed the journal and placed it back under the mattress. I ran back downstairs and ran out of the portrait hole, ignoring the calls of my friends. I ran to the Headmaster's office. I quickly knocked on his office.

"Professor Dumbledore! Professor Dumbledore!"

"Come in, Ms. De Martel. The password is lemon drop." Professor Dumbledore said, plainly.

"Lemon drop." as I said that, the door open, allowing me to enter.

"What brings you here, Ms. De Martel?" Professor Dumbledore asked as he put on his glasses.

"Sir, what do you know about my grandfather's journal?" I asked even though I know the answer to it.

"What journal, Ms. De Martel? I'm afraid I won't follow."

I chuckled. "Sir, I know you know about it. Why lie? I read my father's journal. I know that you sent him to the cottage to find the journal."

"And?"

"He didn't find it because hemy father didn't look throughly." I said.

"How many classes do you have tomorrow, Mia?" Professor Dumbledore asked, standing up.

My brows furrowed. "Only four, sir, why?"

"I'll have you excused tomorrow." Professor Dumbledore said, casually.

"Why, sir?"

He smiled a little. "We'll be going on a little trip, Ms. De Martel and I trust that you won't tell anyone about our little talk."
