"How was your day?" James asked, taking a sip of his wine.

"Fine. I got to see Elijah and Damian again. Those boys are bigger now. I can't wait until their finally walking around and starts blowing up everyone." She grinned.

James chuckled. "Those boys will be the new generation of the marauders. They'll carry on our legacy."

"Them and our kids and Peter's kids, if ever he wants to have them." She said, casually.

"I actually want to say something to you."

"Okay, what's up?" she asked.

James took a deep breath before speaking. "Something happened when you were away."

Her forehead creased. "What happened?" she asked.

"I slept with Lily."

Silence fell on them. Mia didn't know how to react or how to feel. James, on the other hand, was silent, debating whether he should continue or not.

"When?" she asked after minutes of silence. "When did you sleep with her?"

"Pads' and Haven's wedding." he said, quietly. "I— We were drunk. We didn't know what we were doi—"

"Do you regret sleeping with her?" Mia asked. "Or are you saying this because you're leaving me?"

"What? No! I'm not leaving you. I'm telling you this because I want to be honest with you and yes, I do regret sleeping with her." he quickly said. "I'm sorry. I really am. I'm sorry that I cheated on you."

Mia fought the urge to let the tears roll down her cheek, instead, she sighed heavily and looking at the bespectacled man."It's fine. You made one mistake. You're human, you make mistakes. It's life." she muttered as she started clearing the table.

"I got her pregnant."

She felt her heart drop upon hearing the words that came out of his mouth. She ran her hands through her hair as she tried to stay calm.

"I'm sor—"

"We're good. We're so good. You don't have to worry. I'm going to take a shower and head to bed . Do you mind if you could clean up here?"

Amelia didn't gave him time to reply, she quickly made her way upstairs. Tears began to roll down her cheeks. She felt like she was punched in the gut as she heard James confess about cheating. Even though she forgave him, it hurts.

The next morning, Mia slipped out of bed and went to the kitchen. She sighed as she started to make pancakes for breakfast. Her eyes were puffy, so she wore her glasses that she didn't used that often.

"Good morning." James greeted, awkwardly as he sat on the dining table.

"Morning." she smiled. "Eat up. You're going on a mission with the others, right?" she asked, placing down plate of pancakes and fruits in front of him.

He nodded. "Are you going to be okay here? You can invite Haven, Savannah, or Marlene, if you want." James suggested. "I'll be gone until the evening."

She shook her head. "Haven and Savannah are not available today. Marlene's with Maven. Don't wanna disturb them." she said, plopping down next to him. "Where are you going anyway?"

He shrugged. "I don't know. They'll explain it later." he said, standing up and placing his dirty dishes in the sink. "I'll see you later." he was about to place a kiss on her cheek but he stopped. "Can I kiss you? Or is that too soon?"
