Mia De Martel
1926
Morticia is acting odd. She claims to be seeing my brother around the manor. It's been years since he died. I'm sure she will be fine in a few days. I hope that she'll be alright. I need her. My boys need her.
That's because you bloody killed your brother, you maniac. This family is definitely mental. Absolutely mental. Mental!
How was I even born into a family thay sacrifices his own blood for another woman? That's just cruel and wrong.
The animagus thing with James is doing good for now. It's been two weeks since I've placed the mandrake leave inside my mouth and everything I eat tasted horrible. I can't believe I'm actually doing this.
Thank Merlin, James is here to help. He picks me up from class to prevent me from talking to others because he mentioned when I talk to much there's a possibility that the leaf could slip out of my mouth.
I also told James to stay away from Damon because Damon could read his mind. James asked why and my response was always the same. "I'll tell you after I'm an animagi."
I guess he's getting so eager to know my secret which makes is weird. Really weird.
I don't write in my journal because I can't risk it. I can't risk Damon knowing what I'm planning.
"Hey, wanna get something to eat?" James asked as he sat on the couch.
"Aren't you supposed to be busy?" I asked, closing the journal up. "With your head boy stuff?"
"I still have about an hour and thirty minutes to spare. We can eat at the kitchen, since you are so worried about someone finding out about what's inside your mouth." he suggested.
I rolled my eyes. "Fine. Let's go."
It was quiet today. Remus was released from the hospital wing this morning and Savannah was taking care of him, Sirius, Haven, and Peter were studying in the library for Charms class. I haven't seen much of Lily and Damon lately, probably busy revising for their upcoming NEWTs.
When we entered the kitchen, the house elves were busy as always. There's one house elve who I adore.
"Miss Mia, how wonderful of you to come!" Marcy said with a smile on her face. "You too, Mister James."
"Hello, Marcy. Everything here smells amazing." I smiled.
"Thank you, Miss Mia." Marcy said, shyly. "Mister James, the table and the food you requested this morning is ready."
I furrowed my brows. "Food? And table? For what, James? " I asked.
"Marcy, lead the way." James smiled, ignoring my question.
"This way." she said, sheepishly.
Marcy led us to a table, a little away from the house elves. The table was in front of huge window with the view of the Black Lake and the Forbidden Forest.
"We'll bring the food in shortly." Marcy said before leaving us.
"Let me get the chair for you, De Martel." James offered, pulling out the chair.
I pursed my lips as I sat down. "What are you doing, Potter?"
"I am being a gentleman." he said, pushing the chair before he sat on his chair. "I hope you don't mind but I ordered the food for the both of us."
I shook my my head. "It's fine. What did you ordered for us?"
My eyes lighten up in excitement when I saw lasagna with two pieces of garlic bread on the side.
James chuckled at my excitement. "I talked to Savannah to talk to Grayson and to ask him what's your favorite food. He specifically told me that you like lasagna without too much cheese and two garlic bread only." He explained.
"This is amazing!" I squealed. "You are amazing, James Potter!"
"I know I am, love. No need to point it out." He said, cockily.
I rolled my eyes before taking a bite. My nose scrunched up. "I hate this leaf."
"Just eat up. You barely ate these last two weeks." James said, pouring water on my cup.
"Thank you, James." I said, sweetly. "How's Remus?"
"Tired from last night but Savannah is with him tonight. He'll be fine, especially with all the chocolate you and Haven gave him." he gave me a disapproving look.
"What? He loves chocolate. Chocolate cheers him up." I argued.
He scoffed, rolling his eyes. "For someone who dislikes chocolate, you sure like buying them." he shook his head.
"I bought it for Rem, not me." I said before taking a bite out of the lasagna. "What about you? Do you have a food that you dislike?"
He pursed his lips, thinking. "I hate eating brussel sprouts." he shrugged.
"No one likes those." I laughed.
"No. Wormtail loves them." he emphasized. "What are your plans after Hogwarts?"
I beamed. "I'm actually leaning towards being a healer. I always loved helping people and after school I'll be able to heal people. Literally." I said, enthusiastically.
"That sounds amazing. You would be a great healer, Amelia." he said, genuinely.
"Thank you." I smiled. "How about you? What are your plans?"
"Auror. My goal is becoming a hit wizard. It's risky, dangerous, and I'll be able to lock up the bloody witch and wizards who are absolutely mental." he sounded so passionate about it.
"That job is so right for you, James, but it's dangerous. How does Mia and Monty feel about it?" I asked, casually.
He sighed. "I haven't talked to them about it. I always avoided the topic because I know how mum will feel. I'm sure she wouldn't let me."
I nodded. "At first I'm sure she wouldn't agree but after some time and probably a bit of convincing, she'll agree, because she can't stop your dream, James."
"Do you really think I'll be an auror?" he asked. I caught a bit of worry in his tone.
I nodded. "Of course you'll be. You are James Fleamont Potter. One of the most smartest and greatest bloke I've ever known. You are amazing even though you are extremely annoying."
He scoffed. "Arse."
