08 | Why is that your business?

Mia De Martel

"We'll finish up later, is that alright?" I asked whilst packing my things. It's been two hours since Regulus and I started on the project. So far we've only finished Jupiter moons with the origins and drawings.

Regulus nodded. "Sure. Say around 5 pm? Is that alright?" Regulus consciously asked.

"Yeah. Sounds wonderful. I'll see you later." I waved at him before leaving the Great Hall.

I need a walk and fresh air. I've been sitting for two hours straight. I had a great time this morning. I didn't expect Black to be a funny bloke. He's a nice person as well. I don't understand why he hides under that scary facade. It does not suit him at all.

I decided to head to the Black Lake. I need some fresh air. I sat by the tree, leaning back and breathing in the fresh air. I pulled my schrunchie out of my hair and combed my brown wavy hair with my fingers.

My eyes trailed down at the four boys walking towards me. I beamed at them.

"To what do I owe this pleasure, boys?" I asked.

"Are you my brother's girlfriend?" Sirius blurted out.

I stared at him for a moment before I burst into laughter. Is he actually serious? Regulus and I? Impossible.

I stopped laughing when they looked at me with a serious look on their faces. I coughed before standing up and dusting off the dirt on my trousers.

"Not that it's any of your business, Black and I are not together. We were just working on a project on astronomy class." I coolly said.

"Are you sure?" Remus asked.

I arched a brow at him. "Yes and so what if Black and I are together, why is that your business?" I asked, almost raising my voice.

"We're just making sure. We don't want you being with the wrong sort." James nonchalantly explained.

I gritted my teeth. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked through my gritted teeth.

"Means that his a slytherin." Peter remarked. "All slytherins are the wrong sort." he added.

I scoffed. "I am completely offended by that. My brother's a slytherin and he's a nice person. He doesn't care about blood purity. Yes, the others are bad but don't bloody generalize, you gits!" I hissed as I grabbed my bag and walking passed them, hitting James' and Remus' shoulder.

I stopped and faced them again. "Also, Regulus Black is a nice guy. You may not know it because he hides under a mask but he is." I scowled before walking away from them.

How dare they? They didn't have any business asking me if Black and I are together. How could they even generalized that all slytherins are bad? Not all of them are like that.

"Password?" The fat lady asked.

"Unicorn." I said before walking in the portrait hole.

Was I too harsh on them? Maybe I was. Should I even apologize? Or not?

I groaned as I slumped down on the couch. Maybe I was too harsh on them. I'll apologize later.

"Are you alright, Mia?" Lily asked as she sat beside me.

"No. I need advice." I admitted as I turned to her.

"Okay. About?"

I began to tell Lily what happened earlier today. From what happened with Regulus to the Black Lake. While I was telling Lily about everything, it was relieving. It was like I have a sister of my own.

"Bloody Potter." Lily grumbled.

"Should I apologize?" I asked.

Lily shook her head. "No, you shouldn't. You defended your friend and your brother. You shouldn't feel sorry about that, you should feel proud because you defended them." Lily paused for a moment. Lily placed her hand on my shoulder. "Don't feel bad about raising your voice at them. They deserved it." Lily shrugged.

"I guess you're right." I sighed.

Lily rolled her eyes. "Of course I am!" she exclaimed. "Now, I'll see you later. Your brother and I have a date." she grinned.

"Have fun!"
