45 | Firewhiskey and Laughter
The six teenagers were drinking for hours until Sirius and Haven went upstairs. Savannah and Remus started to clean up and Mia took a bottle of firewhiskey with her.
Mia sat at the edge of the balcony, her legs in between the railings, admiring the stars before taking a sip of firewhiskey. She glanced over her shoulder to see James, leaning against the doorframe.
"Want some?" Mia slurred, handing up the bottle.
"Why not?" James took the bottle of firewhiskey from her as he sat next to her. "Are you enjoying yourself, Amelia?"
"More than you, James." Mia grinned.
The took turns on drinking on the bottle, sitting there quietly. Mia was admiring the stars and James was admiring her. She looked beautiful in his eyes.
"I miss my parents." she said after a moment of silence. "My dad might hate me but I still them." a tear rolled down her cheek.
James' slipped his arm around her shoulder, letting her head rest on his shoulder.
"Your father couldn't possibly hate you, Mia. You're one of the most kindest person I know. I'm pretty sure your father was lucky to have a daughter like you." James comforted the brunette as he squeezed her shoulder.
Mia sniffed. "I just wish that they were still alive."
"I know." James said. "At least now, you finally showed me how you feel. We've been trying to do that for a week now."
Mia chuckled. "I noticed."
"You don't have to bother hiding your feelings from us, De Martel. We are your friends." James wholeheartedly said.
Mia smiled. "I'll keep that in mind." she chuckled. "Now, tell me something to get the sad thing on my mind."
"We turned Snivellus' hair pink just before we arrived at Kings Cross." James said, proudly, making the brunette laugh.
"Good. When we go back to Hogwarts, remind me to come and prank with you boys."
"Sure, but are you up to it, De Martel?" James asked with a smirk on his face.
Mia scoffed, pulling away from the boy. "Are questioning my abilities, Potter?"
"Maybe." he said, smugly. "Also, I'm sure your boyfriend won't be very happy if you start pranking him and his friends."
"Then, I won't prank him. Just his friends." she countered.
James gapped. "That won't work! You need to prank him as well!"
"I'll think about it." Mia said before they laughed. "Thank you, James. I haven't laugh in a while."
James beamed before glancing at his watch. "It's already twelve in the morning. Happy sixteen birthday, Amelia."
Mia looked at him, looking shocked. "How did you know that it's my birthday?"
"Well, I just know." he shrugged.
"Thank you, James."
The two spent another hour talking and drinking. Eventually, Mia passed out on his shoulder. James scooped up the girl in his arms, carrying her to the guest bedroom. He gently placed the girl on bed, covering her with the duvet. He pressed his lips on the top of her head before he left the room.
Remus and Savannah was outside the room, waiting for James.
"Did you tell her?" Remus whispered.
James shook his head. "I haven't."
Savannah furrowed her brows. "Why didn't you?"
James deeply sighed before he spoke. "I couldn't say that her boyfriend is a deatheater on her birthday, Sav. I couldn't ruin it. I can't."
