Time Skip: at the Auto Shop"Alright, we are here." Colby says as he stops the car and begins to unbuckle his seatbelt.
We both hopped out of the car, and began walking towards the entrance. "Hey, there's your car." Colby says, pointing to a small garage with my car inside. "Yeah." I say, widely smiling. The both of us walk inside, to find a couple other people sitting in chairs.
I lead Colby over to the front desk, where Mark was sitting, on the phone with someone. I looked back at Colby as we waited for Marks call to finish. Strangely, Colby looked really shy. His hands were in his pockets, he avoided eye contact with anyone even me. He seemed stiff, and I noticed he was fidgeting quite a bit. With his mouth, and his feet.
I was a little confused to be completely honest. So far, he seemed like a very social and outgoing person. But it was kind of cute seeing him all shy and nervous like this.
Finally, Mark hangs up the phone and sets it down. "Hello Jordan, and..." he hesitates. "Colby." He announces shyly. I couldn't help but smile. "Boyfriend?" Mark wonders. "Friend." I correct. "No." Mark disagrees. "Yes." I insist. "Fine." He gives in. I could see Colby smiling slightly from the corner of my eye.
"I'd guess you're hear for your car, and keys?" Mark assumes. "Yep." I nod. "Well your car is outside, I'm sure you saw it. And here are your keys." He says, sliding the keys to me. "Thank you." I say, grabbing them and shoving them in my pocket.
"Valerie is still checking up on some things, so you can wait here and talk to mefor a bit if you want." Mark offers. "Sure." I smile.
"So, Colby. When did y'all meet? I haven't heard of you yet." Mark asks Colby. "Oh- uh, Sunday. At- um at the beach." He says nervously. Even though it's only been about two days, it was quite unusual seeing Colby so closed off and introverted. I think those are the right words. Shy. We'll just go with shy for now.
"Oh, really? Well, how do you like Jordan so far?" Mark wonders. Colby freezes, and glances at me. Hesitating, he responds. "She's really great. I'm glad I met her." Colby confidently replies. Smiling wide, I gave Colby a small hug. He smiled back at me. I feel like he was getting a bit more comfortable.
"Well aren't you two just perfect for eachother." Mark jokes in his southern accent. "Mark, friends. 2 days." I tell him. "Yeah, yeah, okay." He rolls his eyes playfully.
"Mark, we're all good." Valerie informs, coming in from behind Mark. She had oil and dirt all over her.
"Oh, Jordan hey! I figured you be here around now." She says joyfully. "Come on, let's go look at that car of yours." She smiles, directing Colby and I to follow. "Thanks Mark." I whisper as we walk past him. The red-headed man gives me a wink, and we walk into the warehouse part of the shop.
Valerie takes us to my car, and I hop in. Colby just stands awkwardly behind Valerie, waiting for someone to say something, or something to happen. "Start it?" I ask. "Yep." Valerie nods.
Putting the keys in the key hole, I turn them and begin to start my car. It sounded better than it ever had before. "Wooo, yeah." I laugh of joy. I can see Colby standing away. I noticed a bright smile upon his face. I could see his eyes light up. But, I'm not sure how me turning on an old car can give one so much joy. But, we all have our things. I'm not judging.
