I finished up in the bathroom, and quietly walked into my room for the night. Just before shutting the door, I heard little quick footsteps and scratching at the door. I opened it back up to find Circa standing in front of me, her tail wagging viciously. "Oh, hello sweetheart." I whisper, stooping down to her. I pet the top of her head gently, before she runs into the room and jumps up on the couch."What are you doing silly?" I question, walking over to her with a smile on my face.
Most everything was dark, and I couldn't see jack shit. On my way over to Circa, I ended up stubbing my toe on some plastic heavy machine, which made me trip and fall down. Thankfully, I landed onto the mattress which saved me from face planting onto the hardwood floor.
"What the fuck." I whisper to myself. Sighing as I pull myself up, I pull of the blanket from the couch, and cover myself in it. It was a bit cold in the house, but I didn't mind.
20, maybe 30 minutes of me trying to go to sleep, I physically could not. My eyes wouldn't stay closed, I didn't feel tired at all no matter how long I kept my eyes shut, nothing. I could not go to sleep. Finally, I got frustrated and decided to just look at my phone for a while, hoping to eventually get tired from that. Circa remained on the couch, watching as I scroll through and watch Sam and Colby's videos.
Still, after another hour, nothing. It was already 2:30 at this point, and I personally did not think I was going to be able to sleep. Not knowing what to do, I threw the blanket off me and headed out of the room, quietly tiptoeing downstairs. I was also pretty hungry, so I figured I would look through the cupboards, hopefully nobody would mind if I ate a small snack.
I got downstairs, and walked into the kitchen, turning on the light as I did so. I opened a number of cabinets, until I found something I figured no one would mind to be eaten. In the cupboards just above the stove there was a decently sized bag of plain almonds sitting in the back behind a few bottles of hot sauce. I moved then slightly out of the way and grabbed the bag, opening it up quietly as I was able to.
Still, I felt guilty from eating food that wasn't mine, but I could always buy some more. I walked over to the living room and sat down on the large, white, beanbag, pulling out my phone to watch some more YouTube. It was much warmer out here, that's why I stayed.
I most never ate Almonds, or any type of nuts really. Occasionally I would buy a bag of pistachios, but that was about it. Though, these almonds were pretty good.
As I watched more of Sam and Colby, I spent most of my thoughts admiring what the boys did. And Colby's face, laugh, smile, eyes, you name it. Both of them were absolutely amazing, there was just something about Colby, I just couldn't quite put my finger on it.
Time went by fast, and sooner than I expected, it was 5:00 AM. When I realized, was actually because my phone died. If it didn't, I probably would have stayed watching until sunrise. I sighed, and walked back upstairs to charge my phone. Still, for an unknown reason I wasn't tired at all. If I could I would stay up late, but around this time I would be at least a little tired. I was till wide awake.
I wasn't all that surprised. I was definitely not a morning person. Like Colby, I am a night owl. I remember him telling me that on our way to Tender Greens.
I also wasn't paying attention, and I ended up eating all of the almonds in the bag. I definitely had to buy another bag for the house. As I walked into the room, i noticed that Circa was still there. She was just sleeping on the couch. I giggled and smiled happily. She is a very cute dog, and her eyes are gorgeous. I gave her a few pets on the head, and plugged my phone into the charger.
Sighs of boredom, I decided to just go back out and sit in the backyard, and watch the stars. I walked back downstairs, and opened up the back door. Instantly, I regretted that decision and shut the door, going back into the warm house. It was freezing outside. As I began to turn around, I heard a voice from behind me.
"Jordan?" I hear. I turn around to find Sam looking at me sleepily. "Hey." I chuckle awkwardly. "Wha- what are you doing here still? And at 5:00 in the morning?" He asks, squinting at me sleepily. "Well my car is really shitty, and on the drive home it broke down. I called a tow truck, and then I didn't have a way to get home. So I called Colby and asked if he could drive me home but then when we got there, I realized I forgot my keys and he offered for me to stay the night." I explain quickly.
"Oh, well are you alright?" He asks. "Yeah, I'm good. I really cannot sleep though. I was about to go look at the sky but it's freezing out there." I say. "Oh okay. Well if you want you can watch some TV or play a game, or something. I just came down to get some water." Sam tells me. "You sure?" I make sure. "Yeah, totally." He says. "Thanks." I smile.
Sam grins at me sleepily, and pours a glass if water for himself. I sit down on the couch, and turn on the TV, waiting for it to load. "Does everyone else know you're here?" Sam asks, before heading upstairs. "Only you, Aaron, Elton and Colby obviously. Jake too but he doesn't live here clearly." I say. "Oh, okay then. Well I'm sure they won't care." He says. "Goodnight Jordan." Sam yawns, heading upstairs. "Goodnight Sam." I repeat.
The TV finally loaded as Sam walked upstairs, and I grabbed the Xbox controller, clicking on YouTube. All I wanted to do at the moment was watch Sam and Colby's videos, so that's what I chose to watch. My shift started at 11:15 AM, so I definitely had time to get ready till then and all, I was just worried I would start getting tired then, rather than now.
