"Okay, well let's just go downstairs alright?" I advised. The two nod, and we all head downstairs. While walking into the living room, we saw Jake sitting on the couch, covered in towels and blankets. "Oh god." I chuckle. Quickly walking over, I sit next to Jake and look at him with a smile. "I'm wet." Jake says to me. "Ah, don't worry. Me too." I joke, leaning back on the couch.
Jake laughs, while Sam and Andie come sit down beside me. I saw Aaron sitting outdoors with a camera pointed at his face, as buddy ran around. Elton was, I assume, still in the garage, and as earlier, Corey and Devyn were still out.
"Jake, why are you all wet?" Sam asks in confusion. My soaked friend, looks directly at me with a death stare. Awkwardly, I slowly looked away turning to Andie. Andie, looking at Jake, Jake looking at Sam, Sam looking at me, me looking at Andie, Andie looking at me, and so on. We all exchanged blank stares, until find something could break the tension.
Hearing a noise, I turn my head in the direction I heard it from. Looking back hesitantly, I look back again to find Colby walking down the stairs.
"Hey, hey! Look its Colby!" I announce enthusiastically, smiling at him. He smiles awkwardly and walks over to us. "Come on, sit." I smile, patting the seat next to me. Colby sits down, while Andie tries to avoid eye contact. Looking at her, I gave her a "suck it up and talk to him" look.
Next thing I know, nothing happens. I knew I had to do something to make it less awkward, so there I went.
"Okay, Colby this is my bestfriend Andie from Kansas." I introduce. Andie's eyes grow wide as she didn't expect it. "I know you two have already.. met but here's an actual introduction." I say.
"Hey Colby." Andie waves shyly. Colby flashes her one of those white dad smiles, and looks back down. Sighing in a way of defeat, I plopped back down on the couch.
After a while, things finally started to go back to normal. Everyone was talking, and everything was fine. Until Colby mentioned something I wanted to avoid. The whole reason I came today was to avoid it, but I guess I had to come to the realization noy everything goes perfectly the way you want it.
Colby POV:
Andie had caught me... doing some personal things earlier today. It was extremely awkward, and embarrassing for a while, but eventually it was okay. Like Jordan said, just give it a while and it would go away. I remembered asking her why she didn't have work, and she said she'd tell me when she got here. And, she was here so I figured, why not ask?
"Hey, Jordan by the way what happened with work?" I asked. Her head jolted my way, and she had a weird look on her face. She looked back at Andie, and back at me.
"O-oh, I just.. my boss gave me, a- he gave me a week off." She struggles. I could tell she was lying, but I didn't know why. "Oh, okay.." I say, pretending to go along with it.
Talking to everyone for a while more, and getting to know Andie and Jordan better, Jake announced something out of nowhere.
"We should have a karaoke battle." He suggests, standing up proudly. Everyone looking around at eachother, Sam agrees. "Yeah, sound fun." He smiles, nodding his head a bit. We accept happened to have a karaoke machine here, which we never used. Best if we gave it some attention.
As Sam went to get the thing, I noticed Jordan completely shut down. She was sunken into the couch, scrolling on her phone. She looked as if she wanted to hide. Her face was a bit red, and I realized what was happening.
"You gonna join us?" I ask. The shy Jordan looks up at me, with innocent like eyes. I never realized or really payed attention to how pretty her eyes were. Or just in general how pretty she was, but right then it hit, and I began to blush quite a bit.
