Eek I'm so excited to post this chapter and the next few - they're so fun, I think you'll love them! (FYI... things could get a little awkward 😳)

Your POV

"I think you - the both of you - need a serious break. You're stressing over virtually nothing." Uma smiled reassuringly, but the feeling inside my stomach wouldn't settle.

"Harry, can we talk outside for a second?" I ventured.

"Yeah."

We left to talk in the hallway, leaving Uma and Johnny confused. It doesn't matter enough to bother them with it. For now, at least.

I got straight to the point. "Have things been seeming a little... off to you?"

"I don't know (y/n). Ever since we got back, I just feel like the air's a bit heavy. Suffocating, sort of."

"It can't be a side-effect of pixie dust, right?"

"I think it's more of a metaphorical weight. Our friends obviously aren't feeling it, but everything seems tense." He took a deep breath, preoccupied.

As much as I wanted to speculate about this, I realized that Harry had something else on his mind, on top of this. "I don't think you should bother too much about this Harry." I put my hand on his shoulder. "Just focus on your try-outs for now, that's more important."

"You're right. I don't know why I'm so high-strung about this. It's just to be on a team with stuck-up royals, I shouldn't care about it."

"It's okay to want this, Harry. I think it's amazing that you're getting involved." I smiled. "But don't worry about it. You're literally the son of the most famous pirate. Your swordsmanship skills are beyond compare - you're quite easily the best in Auradon!"

"I'm not sure about that, I remember you tiring me out almost effortlessly not so long ago."

"Well, you should be glad I'm not trying out then." We both laughed at this, feeling like ourselves for the first time today.

"I should gear up, I don't want to be late."

"Go easy on them, Harry." I joked.

"As if." He smirked and then left for his room.

I reentered the dorm. "Harry's gone to get ready for try-outs," I informed them.

"Is everything okay with you both?"

"Yeah, we're great Johnny. You were right, we're just exhausted, and obviously overthinking everything."

"Well, we have a bit of an issue." Uma sighed.

"What is it?" I sat down beside her.

"My mom found out that I'm, well, with someone. And she wants to meet him."

"That's not too bad, is it?" I looked at Johnny.

"Her mom is pretty opinionated, and we don't know how she would take it."

"For all we know, she thinks it's Harry."

I glanced over, trying so hard not to laugh. "Harry?"

"My mom is sort of out of things - and I think she secretly was always hoping it would happen."

I raised my eyebrows. "Wow. I did not know that."

"Which is why, the sooner we let her know, the better," Johnny interjected.

"But we don't know how she'll react."

"I don't see any reason why she should object." I thought out loud. "Johnny is an Isle boy after all, wouldn't it only really be a concern if you got together with some prince instead?"
