Sorry for the late-ish post - I was on vacation and didn't have time to get this ready earlier! This chapter is super fun because we get some new interaction for the first time in quite a few parts!
(The long version of this chapter is: "Between Magically-Inclined Princesses Who Are Both With Isle Boys" hahaha)
Your POV
"Um, Audrey?" I called out, waving.
She seemed embarrassed that I saw her. "Oh, hi (y/n)."
"I'll get us checked in and go first as we planned," Harry informed me before heading for the front desk.
We stood off to the side so that we didn't block the entrance. "What are you doing here Audrey? Who gave you flowers?"
"Uh, well..." She looked around quickly and then put her hand on my shoulder. "Actually, I've been dying to tell someone about this. Can you keep a secret?"
"Totally."
"I've been coming out here regularly because... I'm seeing Coy Gothel!" She squealed, more excited than I had seen her in a while.
"You're seeing Coy?!"
"Shhh (y/n)!" She pulled me more towards the corner of the waiting area. "Yes, Coy - I never thought it'd actually happen but here we are! Turns out my best friend's brother was the one for me." She laughed.
I smiled to mirror her happiness. "But wait, I thought you and Chad had something still sort of going on? I bumped into him at like 3 AM a while back."
"Did he seem a little jittery to you?"
"Yeah, I was worried - he was coming from the girls' dorms, and he said he had just met you."
"Silly, Chad. He's been helping me sneak out at odd times so that I could come here, and I told him to cover for us if anyone was suspicious. It's only recently that I've become more comfortable coming here during the daytime - and look, Coy even ordered flowers in for me!"
"That's..." As much as I have my personal hesitations about Coy's character, I remember how I felt when Mal gave me grief for hanging out with Harry when she clearly was wrong about him. It's possible what I know of Coy is just a tiny piece of his behaviour - I won't be the one to put Audrey off. She can take care of herself. "Really amazing, Audrey."
"You think so? I was expecting a crazy reaction - you know, considering the history you two had over the summer."
"I haven't really met him after that, so I couldn't be a judge of how much he's changed. I'm just glad you're happy."
"Oh, if only others thought like you, (y/n)! My grandmother is going to freak if she finds out."
"She'll come around, everyone eventually does." I hoped, thinking of Ursula's prejudice as well.
"I'm sorry for how I behaved in the summer, you know," She continued hushed, out of the side of her mouth, "with trying to take Harry away from you, and just overall... being unhelpful. You two are perfect for each other, Harry would've hated me anyway!" Ah, how she assumes she could have taken him if she wanted to - typical Audrey.
I laughed. "Don't worry, it's all in the past. There's a lot of things about the summer I think we'd all like to forget."
"Yeah, everyone goes a bit crazy in the summer, don't they?"
"Let's just hope it isn't an annual thing."
"I didn't ask... why are you and Harry here anyway?"
