Sorry for the late-ish post! I hope you enjoy this chapter :)

"Oh, well that's an easy one. I don't have any."

Everyone's eyes shot to him in surprise.

"Johnny, you're an orphan?" Uma was bewildered. Evidently, no one else had asked him about this either. Must be that whole "don't ask questions" thing on the Isle.

"Basically, but not exactly. I can't be sure if my parents are dead, but I don't have any. I can't remember them at all either, so it's possible I was abandoned when I was younger, or something like that."

"Johnny that's... I'm so sorry. You don't have any clue about who they were? Who raised you then?"

"No, no idea. They were obviously villains though, so probably not the best of people. They must've been sent to the Isle for doing something horrid, conceived me, and realized there was no love in their hearts to raise a child - or the more likely possibility, I was just an unlucky accident."

"Johnny, don't say that." I looked over at his face, calm as usual, as if it was a matter of no significance to him.

"Why shouldn't I? Better that than the alternative where they had me, raised me for a while, and then realized they didn't want me, getting rid of me before I was at an age I could remember." He paused, noticing our discomfort. "The truth is guys, that I've reached this point where I couldn't be bothered. Sure, I wish I had parents - god, you don't know how much I wish I did - but I don't know who they were, so I can't even direct my frustration at anyone. No names, no keepsakes, no memories - they're nobodies. So it doesn't matter. As for who raised me, I was on the streets for... a long time - a big portion of my life. When I was younger, these fishermen slash pirates took me in, and it was fine until I felt I overstayed my welcome. I ran away from their home one day - I was around 10 - and fended for myself on the streets once again. Stealing, causing havoc, the usual routine. Eventually Coy and James found me, and we got along. Different villain parents sort of tried to take care of me when they could, mostly Mother Gothel funnily, and that was about it. I should have actually guessed she and Coy were connected considering the interest she took in me. Anyway, as we grew I began to feel more of an urge to be good, which pushed me away from James and Coy - the barrier coming down was the tipping point, and eventually I got here." He sighed, but not in sorrow. "And that's my life history in a nutshell."

"Well, if it makes you feel better Johnny - it probably won't but - I know my parent, and have been informed, repeatedly, that I was indeed an accident. It sucks, and hurts really bad, but I guess this is my way of saying that not knowing is a gift in a way. For all you know, they loved you more than they could imagine and passed away when you were really little. It's tragic, but don't think you were an accident or unwanted - it's not worth it to see yourself in that light."

"Thanks, Kai." Johnny half-smiled. "Sorry about your-"

"Don't be. I'm over it. I have been for a while."

"Well then, it's getting late, but can we do one more round?" Johnny proposed.

"One more should be fine." I suppressed a yawn as I said so.

"Kai, truth or dare?"

Kai cracked his knuckles excitedly. "Dare, of course."

"Okay... I dare you to show up to classes tomorrow - shirtless."

"But he needs to wear the Auradon Prep blazer, it's Monday." I reminded him.

"He doesn't need to wear a shirt inside though..." Johnny grinned.

"Pfft, too easy. That style is a common practice in Motunui." Kai was totally laid back about it.

Johnny smirked. "But not in Auradon."

Just before the guys were about to leave for their rooms, I stopped Johnny. "Wait, what about your birthday Johnny? You're always going on about how you're older than me."

"That I can remember. And my name of course."

"But not your last name? You remember your birth date, but not any celebrations of it, or your parents?"

"Weird, right? For some reason, that was something that always just stuck with me."

"Weird." I thought about how odd that was. "Anyway, goodnight."

The rest of us got to bed quickly - Maya had to first make a phone call to her mom - and fell asleep almost immediately.

Once again, although this time I almost felt it coming before it did, I was transported to that dream. Not again, I thought as I was back in my three-year-old body.

Is this a memory, or my imagination? Mom smiled as she helped me board the carpet, looking much younger than I ever remembered seeing her.

"Are you excited (y/n)?" She held me in her lap as we took off.

"Yes! Yes!" I responded, but it wasn't me who chose to, it just happened. So I don't need to participate, I'm just watching then...

As we arrived to... wait - this is Hook's Bay! What are we doing here?

I knew we had been there many times when I was younger, but I never had a distinct memory of it - I just know that it's a place we would go.

As I stretched my eyes to see the scene in front of us, I was shocked.

Can it really be...?

Since this is an iteration, there's a part two just like in the first book (that's why this chapter is a bit shorter than usual), so stay tuned for that! Predictions for the next chapter?
