^ This is from the "Indian Dance Scene" that happens in High Strung Free Dance - quite Agrabah-ish colours, right?
Your POV
I bunched my hair into a towel and slipped into the traditional Agrabah attire. A perfect fit, as always.
Considering how little time we had until lunch, I couldn't afford to waste it drying my hair. My "handmaiden" - Dahlia's daughter, Daiya - always helped out with my hair. She was less of a handmaiden though, and more of a super-skilled friend who was more than willing to assist me.
She never wanted to leave Agrabah to come to an Auradon school, so was by the palace anyway when we announced our arrival.
"How about a do-up? It'll prevent your hair from dripping, and it'll look quite exquisite once it dries up." She held my hair up in front of the mirror.
"You know best, Daiya!"
"So, Harry's with you?" She spoke as she did my hair.
"Yeah, he came along. Agrabah's been a bit of an adjustment, as you can imagine."
"Your palace is an adjustment even for those from Agrabah city, Princess, let alone that Isle!"
"You're right, I should have eased into this."
"Come on, it's not a bad thing. There's nothing wrong in a little showing off, sometimes." She motioned for me to pass her a golden clip."Of course you would say that, Daiya! You've never had any reservation in such things."
She shook her head. "If it's rightfully yours, Princess (y/n), then you can rightfully share it with your friends. There's no guilt in that."
"Still, none of my friends in Auradon come from such a background! They can't relate on the slightest level. Maya's place in Motunui is nothing compared to this, even if she is the chief's daughter."
"Agrabah is extravagant, it's a known fact." She shrugged. "There's no better place in all of the world."
I grinned. "I see you haven't changed at all, Daiya."
"Why change when you're perfect?" I laughed as she smirked. She's so full of herself, hah. "And you're all done! What do you think?"
"Hm, not your best work." I squinted in the mirror.
She frowned and threatened to pull the one pin holding it all together. "Hey!"
"Kidding!! I'm just kidding, Dai!" I flicked her hand away from the pin. "Please don't, you know there's no way I could recreate this masterpiece."
"So...?"
"It's perfect, I love it!" I gave her a hug, nearly tripping on the end of my dress.
"God, careful (y/n)!" She exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around me. "Remember what a mess it was last time you came to visit - when you got that huge bruise on your forehead doing the same thing? It was a nightmare to cover it up!"
"Ooh, I forgot about that - I'll be careful. These dresses are death traps."
"They're only death traps when you're wearing them!"
"Cut me some slack, Dai." I rolled my eyes. "Give me some time to readjust."
"It's not me you should be worried about - imagine tripping over this gown in public! I can already see the headlines: Agrabah princess uncomfortable in traditional--"
"Yeah, yeah - I can see it too, no need to rub it in." I sulked.
"Forget about it - isn't it about time you head to lunch?" I nodded in response. "I'll see you there, then." She bowed out of respect and left the room, leaving me to have a last glance in the mirror before walking down the hall to Harry's.
I knocked on his marble-wood door. "Are you ready?"
A muffled response came from the other side. "Uh, sort of?" This was queue enough for me to enter.
He was standing in front of the mirror in a silvery blue Agrabah garment, just struggling to do up the button at the back of the neckline.
"Here I can help." I stifled the urge to quickly pace across the room, instead slowly making my way to him, care taken not to trip."I look ridiculous, don't I?" He muttered as he stared at his reflection. His eyes had been glued to his figure since I entered, he didn't even take a moment to turn and look at me.
"What? I think it's dashing - you just think so because you're not used to the style. This outfit though - definitely the stuff of royalty. My crazy parents spared no expense." Assisted by my heels, I barely needed to get on my tiptoes to put the button. "There, all good."
"I had a hunch - this cloth is unlike anything I've worn, ever."
"Just one of Agrabah's many specialties." I grinned.
With a brush of his hand through his already dried hair, Harry spun to examine my outfit.
"Woah." He looked me up and down, gauging the outfit from the golden hems to the matching silvery-blue bodice to the golden clip in my hair. "This is beyond elegant."
"Eh, it's the usual - though I would say the finer details on this dress have been paid more attention to than on any other occasion. My hair still hasn't dried so it had to be pinned up. You know I prefer it down but, well it is what it is." I rambled.
"I love it - your hair's adorable, and I can see your face more clearly. You're beautiful, princess."
I blushed. "Must you compliment me every time you see me?"
He stood up tall. "Excuse me, that's kind of my job. And plus, an Agrabah princess, and an outfit such as that, deserves as plenty compliments as can be given."
"Thank you." I mundanely replied, unsure of what else could even be said.
"I think I know why I especially love this colour on you - isn't it similar to the one you were wearing in that Auradon Fashion Weekly edition a while back?"
My jaw dropped. "Why do you know about that?" Half impressed, half embarrassed, I looked up at him.
"'Why?' How could I not?"
"Isn't that from before we even met? It was a one-time thing, literally the only magazine I've been featured in."
"Hah, "featured in" - (y/n) you were on the cover! Things wash up on the Isle now and then, you know, and I happened to come across it."
"I thought you hated magazines - especially fashion ones."
"I do. But I just couldn't resist when the mystery princess was right there on the cover, smiling at me with her perfect set of teeth."He twirled a hair of mine, joking.
"You're crazy. And something tells me you coming across my edition out of a million wasn't just a coincidence." I rolled my eyes playfully.
"That may be - but I'd never admit to going through every washed-up issue from Auradon in search of your face."
I laughed. "Frankly, I think you should stop telling people we were reunited by "fate" - it seems like a lot more meddling was in play than just convenient bump-ins, pirate."
He smirked. "You just have that effect on people, princess. I couldn't help it."
"We'd really head to lunch, we've wasted enough time already."
Harry gestured for me, the cape of his outfit swishing behind him. "Lead the way."
"My pleasure."
Much fluff, as requested :)
How has the start of school been for you?
Things are pretty crazy for me, and I'm worried that I'm falling behind on writing this and won't be able to compensate for it :( hopefully I have some time soon to write ahead and get back on track!!
I hope you're happy and healthy!!!
