I imagine Ruby as kind of a combination of these two ^^ I might use them interchangeably depending on the gifs that work, or just stick to Nell Tiger Free since I feel like she looks more like Johnny? Unless you guys have other ideas! Feel free to comment-->
Your POV
"Hey, what is it–" I saw what it was. Ruby was walking our way in the distance. Wasn't close enough to hear us, but we both could recognize her with certainty.
He ducked behind me. "I c-can't do this. Can't talk to her until...I can't."
"You don't need to." I pulled him to the other side of me, further away from the road. "She hasn't seen us yet, we're good. The taxi's not far ahead, let's just go faster."
His breaths were quickening, and with that I began to understand what an impact this had on him. Even if not mentally, physically his body went into a panic when he saw her. He's not near ready to tell them.
"She's getting closer (y/n)." His grip on my arm tightened.
"Just a little bit further."
"N-no. No, she'll see us for sure! (Y/N) if I talk to her after knowing, and I don't tell her, it'll be like lying! I can't lie to Ruby."
"If we stop now, she'll see us as well!" Think (y/n). Johnny's in distress, you have to help him.
"I feel faint."
I looked at him, and he did seem green.
Something must be done, and soon!
I shut my eyes. Bracelet, if there's any bit of energy left in you, this would be the moment to do something - do anything.
I channelled the desperation, the thoughts of everything I was avoiding to think of before, into this. Ruby can't see us.
It felt horrible, this time - the tingling. Usually, there would be a sort of high associated with the magic. But not now. It felt like I was on my last straw, and that straw was very near to its end.
A musty fog filled the air, cloudy white. It covered the road between Ruby and us, making the other side invisible. It worked, but was quickly fading.
"What is this?"
"Doesn't matter - just run to the carriage, I'm right behind you."
Johnny didn't waste time to follow my instructions, seeming better now that the confrontation was unlikely. I kept up as fast as I could, abandoning the thoughts of the fog to focus only on getting to that carriage in time.
Ruby was still not to be seen. Good.
Johnny jumped in and stuck out a hand for me to climb in.
"Where to?" The driver calmly asked.
"Auradon Prep, please." I heaved. "And if you could take the calmest roads possible, that would be greatly appreciated." I sighed, taking my seat opposite Johnny. "I think I'm going to be sick," I told him as I closed my eyes and rested my head back on the headrest. I took slow breaths, holding everything in as hard as I could.
