Random pic because I'm so out of content... turns out it sort of works for this part?

Your POV

"And here we have the first Agrabah meal with Princess (y/n) for at least 3 three months! Three, that's right! But what an entrance she made, and with Harry Hook - pirate from the Isle! And here they are having a very Agrabah meal in the famous Palace dining hall, all dressed up in traditional Agrabah-style clothing!" A reporter walked in casually, motioning for his cameraman to shoot the exciting scene in front of them.

I abruptly stopped eating - because if there's one thing I can't do, it's eat in front of people I don't know. Especially if those people are all from Agarabah state.

He continued on, enthused. "And how elegantly they pull off the clothing - Princess (y/n), we knew of course looks lovely in her home state's attire, but who knew a pirate could rock a kurta?" There's that headline that'll follow on every paper within an hour.

"Nice press." Harry looked at me, confused.

"Yeah, intrusive, but not toxic like in Auradon. We can appreciate that." I near-whispered back, in a voice I knew wouldn't be caught on camera. Who knows how many times I've had to do this.

By this time pretty much everyone at the table had stopped their consumption, and was waiting for the moment the reporter would leave, to continue.

Mom, in particular, I knew was posing - that routine position she held for the papers - with her head poised, smile present but not overbearing, and hand on Baba's hand.

The reporter, hearing no objection from us, for once, approached Harry. Might as well get it over with, so the next while can be spent in peace.

"So, Mr. Hook-"

"Harry's okay." He smiled. God, the way he eats up fame and attention. It took everything in me not to laugh at his adorable behaviour.

"Harry, what is your first impression of Agrabah? Isn't it as amazing as any place can ever be?"

"It's even better, Ahmed!" Harry noted the nametag the reporter had on, much to the reporter's delight. Ahmed's probably never had such a successful interview in his whole career, as he now has by even just that one line Harry spoke. The news industry is a funny thing. "Pictures and drawings in books could never do justice to how spectacular Agrabah is. You can't know it unless you've been here. Simple as that."

Immensely satisfied with that, the reporter took a step back and turned to me. "And dear Princess (y/n), how does it feel to be back?"

"It's lovely. No matter where I go, Agrabah will always be home. And for that, I'm thankful." I smiled, letting him know that was all I would let on. More than enough if you ask me - short and sweet, as it should be.

"There you have it, citizens and friends of Agrabah - in the words of pirate, Harry Hook, 'You can't know Agrabah unless you've been here. Simple as that.' Simple as that, it is! We'll see you again later for our special with local Agrabah zookeeper - Tigers Are Our Friends. Salam, and we'll be off!" The cameraman cut at this, and the reporter closed his eyes with a relieved smile.

Usually they would have pressed on for more, but I suppose he didn't want to push his luck, everything going as well as it was.

He graciously thanked us, wished us a good stay, and promptly left, allowing us to finish our meals.

"Wow, I thought they would pick me apart! Ahmed was so nice!" Harry exclaimed.

"It would be risky to attempt to defame an Agrabah royal." Daiya began.

I continued for her. "As tempting as a juicy, scandalous story may be for a reporter - if it doesn't take off, which it likely won't - it'll do more harm to his career than good. Rule number one of our rigid nationality - always speak good of Agrabah's name. Inherently, that includes us. Rather than finding our faults, as Auradon networks do, they highlight the best."

"But I'm not an Agrabah royal." Harry shrugged.

"Please, we all know that if you ever did anything wrong, the backlash would be on (y/n) - hurting you would only really mean hurting her. Obviously." Daiya - rather harshly - conveyed to Harry. Of course the rest of us at the table knew this to some extent, but it didn't seem like Harry did.

Harry, who was eating the food with much pleasure, stopped and sat back in his chair - grin wiped off. "Oh. I didn't think about it that way."

"Harry, don't worry - nothing of the sort could happen," I reassured him, or at least tried to.

"It's the same for me, bro," Daniel added. "And nothing's ever happened like that. You have nothing to be stressed out about."

"Daniel, if you slip up - what? Agrabah will care about a royal handmaiden's honour? Harry's in a different ballgame. It's not the same." Daiya went on. She's always been ultra-protective of me and my honour, but she was coming on too strong.

"Daiya, please. Can we not--" I tried to tell her.

"I'm just saying it as it is. Someone has to."

The parents weren't interfering, which meant they agreed. Had they all been planning on telling him this?

Harry sighed. "She's right, (y/n) - someone had to. Couldn't risk me ruining everything." His eyes had a sadness to them. Either he's sad at the truth of it - or sad because he figures everyone expects him to mess up. Both ways, I was angry at this ambush - surely they didn't need to go about it like this?

"Harry, come on - it was the same in Auradon! Worse, in fact. But no matter how hard anyone tried, they couldn't find anything on us. It isn't as big of a deal as they're making it out to be." I tried to damage control whatever Daiya's burst out had caused.

"But you said it yourself when we were arriving. It's all eyes on us, here."

"Yes, but--" I took a second to recompose. "See, a reporter just came in, and everything was fine right? And with his report, Agrabah will have a good impression of you. Now can we all just please stop talking about this?"

"Fine by me." Daiya shrugged and moved on to her food.

I still couldn't understand why they had to bring this in - Harry had never done anything that suggested he could ruin my reputation, I mean, if anyone would be prone to doing that, it would be me. Is it possible my family isn't as hospitable as they make it seem?

Harry didn't say another word until he was done eating.

He slowly got up, and looked around uncomfortably. "Um, may I be excused? I'll just be in the room."

"Of course, Harry." Mom allowed this.

I tried to continue on with dinner, keeping small talk with Dai and Daniel, but what they had said was still looming over my head. I wanted to give him space, but I also had to see how he was doing.

I got up, plate still a quarter full. "I, uh, lost my appetite. You could keep this aside for me, I'll have it later." With the time difference from Auradon, I'd probably be hungrier later anyway. "I'll be excused now." I nodded, leaving on my own accord.

I slowly made my way down the halls to Harry's room and knocked on the door.

Sooo behind on writing - uni is far more demanding than I could have ever thought :(

I'm really hoping to get on it soon though because I have the ideas I just need the time to get them down! I don't want to have to resort to posting every two weeks, but who knows?

...As it is engagement is hard to get on Full Sail Ahead! I'd rather not haha.

Maybe take this as a reminder to vote? Tysm for all your continued support though guys - really! I definitely notice every single one of you who votes and comments all the time :)
