I like this gif but the setting's off so please just imagine it in the school (+ Harry is in the classic Auradon Prep fencing fit)!

I have a feeling you guys are going to like this one...

Your POV

Up ahead, I recognized one of my only friends from Legacy Academy. They stuck out like anything, because they were clad in the forest green and pitch black of our Northern visitors, contrasting the usual blue and gold the Auradonians were flooding the halls with.

"Slater?" I waved out.

"It is you! My, you look... sort of different. Not too different, but like happier - and sociable."

I laughed. "It's been a while, Slate. You're not unchanged yourself."

It had been a year and a half since our last Legacy Tournament. Slater was an old friend from the Northern region of Auradon - a sort of smartie turned jock. He always competed in Fencing competitions, and I met him when volunteering for the competition years ago. He was actually a geek once you got to know him, and hence we hit it off almost immediately. I completely forgot that he'd be here.

"This is Johnny and Harry." I gestured to the both of them. "They're from the Isle, and well, now they're some of the closest people to me."

"Hey, I'm Slater. I suppose we'll be fighting at some point during the duration of this thing, huh?" He shook both their hands, but addressed Harry upon seeing his uniform.

"Yeah, probably.' Harry chuckled. "Um... who exactly are you?"

"Like who are my parents?" Slater laughed loudly - he found it hilarious. "Probably no one that anyone here knows! That is such an Auradon question, Harry."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Just got accustomed to that over here." Harry shrugged in slight embarrassment.

"No prob. Most of us from Legacy aren't significant enough to be storybook kids. It's very down-to-earth compared to ol' A. Prep. here. I guess it only entails me to ask, who are you?"

"Captain Hook is my father."

"No kidding! Well that is definitely worth mentioning, isn't it? Hey (y/n), you liked that story, right? Peter Pan and all."

I nodded with a laugh. "Yeah, well here we are." I gestured to Harry. "I found the son of the finest villain out there," I joked. "and made him mine," I added. Had to mention it sometime.

Slater laughed, slightly wide-eyed, impressed. "Noo way, (y/n). You're serious?"

"Totally."

"Well, I knew no one in Auradon was good enough for you - just figured you'd move up to Legacy eventually."

"Hm, well too late for that." I shrugged playfully.

"Legacy missed out." He nodded with a flash of those mirroring blue eyes. Leaving that at that, he turned to Johnny. "What about you, my friend? Got any famous parents?"

I nearly flinched at the question. Not a good time - not at all.

"No, unfortunately." He smiled subtly. "I'm just a normal Isle boy - unlike hotshot Hook over here."

"Well, join the gang, Johnny. Not everyone can be Aladdin's daughter or Hook's son!" He glanced at his watch. "Well, I'd better be off. Want to get a good seat for the show fight." He playfully punched Harry. "We'll catch up later, hopefully." He looked at me as he suggested.

"Yeah, hopefully. Good luck, Slate." I waved as he pranced away.

Once he had walked far enough in the opposite direction, Harry turned to me. "I never heard of a Slater."
