Lost and Found

We get to see Uma's POV for the first time ever in this part!

Your POV

Uma ignored me and addressed the Motunuans. "Huh, seems like it was just him then. Then what were these two...?"

"Uh, guys?" Harry snapped their focus back to us. "Where in the world did he go?"

"We have no idea - we thought that you went with him." Maya shrugged.

"You're okay with him just disappearing?"

"We know Johnny, the guy would be careful enough wherever he went," Kai muttered drowsily. "That's why I told them to go back to sleep, but everyone just stayed up, and then I couldn't sleep." He groaned.

I sighed in relief and looked at Harry. Whatever is happening, at least I won't need to use my magic. He looked equally as relieved, but more in the "I told you not to worry" sense.

"But how did he leave? What, he just walked out the door?"

"No, it seems like he took-" Maya giggled in between. "The vine." She pointed to the window.

Harry and I walked over to the window to see one of the vines that grew around the exterior of the school separated from the rest.

"We thought maybe he'd have enough sense to take your carpet, but it seems like logic isn't at play today." Uma scoffed, not seeming to know exactly how to feel about the situation.

"So Johnny just dropped down using that vine, like Rapunzel or something?" I insinuated, holding back a smile from breaking out.

Harry shot me a warning glance. Right, we agreed to act completely normal. Who said a bit of dramatic irony wasn't allowed though?

"Did you say that... because of Ruby?" Uma questioned, doubtful.

"What? No, not at all." I laughed. "Sorry Uma, Harry and I are just crazy, ignore us."

"By that, she means she's crazy and I'm merely here to keep her in check." He grinned as I frowned momentarily.

"Where were you guys anyways?"

"Oh, we were just... bonding." I smiled, hoping not to give anything else away.

"Why so early? You were gone before dawn."

"I couldn't sleep, sort of had a nightmare and woke (y/n) up. Neither of us could go back to bed so we just hung out at the lounge."

"Alright..." Uma said half-heartedly.

"Don't look at us like that! That is what we did, seriously." I looked between our friends, all eyeing us with different suspicions.

"What should we do now?" Harry sat down on my bed.

"Well since we're up, we need breakfast," Kai announced.

"Let's go and grab some from the cafeteria then - or even from one of the other places around the school. Whatever it is, we can bring it back to the room, you know, if Johnny decides to show up again." I proposed.

"Sure, that sounds lovely to me!" Maya was perky this morning, probably having slept peacefully without disruption.

"Let me just get changed into actual clothes before we head out." We all took turns dressing up for the day.

Just before heading out, Uma stopped us.

"Hey, you know what guys? I think I'll just stay back."

"Uma, what's wrong?" I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Nothing, (y/n), I just want to be here if Johnny comes back."

"Are you sure? He'll come back the way he left, the window's open anyway."
