Your POV

I shook my head.

"Well, you should know. It's what makes me so uncontrollably angry about what we just discovered, despite how hard I'm trying not to show it. I was twelve, as you know. It was just a regular day, school, homework, the usual. Father worked at Hook's Inlet and Shack - the family shop -, and mum occasionally helped out, it was pretty close to our ship. That day, however, she went out to meet some old acquaintances on the other end of the Isle, and took her motorbike, as usual. She did everything right, wore a helmet and everything - but it was fate that made what happened, happen. She got into an accident - I still don't know the details - and was rushed to the hospital on the Isle." At this, the shake in his voice turned into a cold spite. "Her injuries were serious, but shouldn't have been life-threatening - but according to the doctor on call that day, the Isle hospital didn't get enough funding, and as a result there were few higher trained professionals, who that day had more important surgeries to attend to. The ones mum got... tried their best, but nothing could be done with what they had. And there's one thing the doctor said to us that I'll never, ever forget: "we did everything we could," He said. "But we couldn't save her. If we had been in Auradon, she would have had a fighting chance." Unprofessional, I know." Harry sniffled. "Absolutely not what a doctor should say when it's too late, but now, when I know the villains weren't kicked off the Isle because they were still evil - and that my mother might have died in vain - I want nothing more than to get justice, not revenge, but justice for all the lives that were ruined. Ruined for a reason we're yet to uncover - but will never be an excuse for what they did to me, what they did to Johnny, what they did to our parents - it'll never be enough. It'll never make sense to me."

"I... I..." My hands were trembling.

"You don't need to-"

"But if they thought something bad was going to happen... why would they come out in the first place? Why would my mom encourage your parents to come out to this event?" I began to tear up.

"Because it was worth it to try."

"It's always worth it to try." That's what they always say. I sighed and held back from letting my emotions take over. "I think she and some others thought that if everyone was existing in harmony in one place, then whoever was behind this would stop the plan - but it was too late, and the gathering just made it easier with everyone in one space. And because of that... because she couldn't stop it from happening..."

"(Y/N) we can't go around assuming or putting the blame on someone else every second. Your mom is no more responsible than we are - my parents knew what the risks were, but they chose to come out anyway. Maybe it was a lost cause, maybe they already knew it was too late, and they wanted to give us one last day in Auradon."

"Harry, what happened to your mum - she wasn't a villain! And neither was your father! Everyone was living together peacefully... the Isle should never have been created. The Isle created villains out of the former wrongdoers - it created villains of their descendants. No one, not Maleficent, not Mother Gothel, not Ursula, none of them were evil! They had left their ways in the past, but someone, someone higher up seems to have decided it wasn't enough. They split everyone apart - exiled half the population - on what seems to me like a whim. And now the burden of knowing... is on us."

"We need to try and find out more without having to use magic, at least in the near future. There must be some record - someone in Auradon must remember. Whether it's the people who did this, or others like us."

"I doubt those who did they would have left many loose ends. They likely even wiped their own memories so that they would be entirely clueless to the truth as well! It might only be us, the children of that time, who were spared - we need others' memories to be jogged, just as ours was."
