^Here's Maya! (This is Auli'i Cravalho :))
Your POV
Harry and I both turned to each other in surprise.
"You're Moana's daughter?!"
She laughed. "You both know who she is?"
"Maya, your mother is brilliant! One of the most epic heroines in any of the stories father used to tell me - now I know why I sort of recognized your face. You're a spitting image of your mother."
She couldn't even respond in her disbelief.
"Wait, isn't Moana off on great adventures, sailing around the world and all?" I always thought that was the reason she wasn't in Auradon - and to think she was still on Motunui, just a few kilometres from us?
"My mother? Off on adventures? Maybe you're confused - she doesn't let anyone off this island, including herself."
"Didn't Moana return the heart of Te Fiti, and ensure that everyone on Motunui could sail again?" Harry obviously took a great interest in this fairytale - he appeared personally hurt when he heard the reality of Moana today.
"Yes, that's true, but that was years ago. That Moana is no more. Whatever fun was alive in her died before I was born - and now I'm stuck here just as she was. But she doesn't understand that. Or she doesn't want to."
"I wonder why that is... it's not like Auradon is dangerous or anything..."
"Auradon. Is that far away? How did you get here?"
"Oh, it doesn't really matter how we ended up here - but Auradon isn't far at all. If you stood at the other edge of this island on a clear day, you could probably even see it!"
"Really? It's always so misty here, I suppose we never noticed it!" She wrung out the remaining water from her hair, even though the sun had dried up most of it during our conversation. "Guys, you need to let me give you a tour of the island! We've never had visitors, and I'd love to get to know you better - it's not every day we have a pirate and a princess just appear out of thin air!"
I looked at Harry. "We have time, don't we?"
"As long as we can get a bite soon." He looked at Maya. "You do have food on this island, don't you?"
She laughed. "You're funny - both of you will fit right in. Oh! There's someone you should meet, let's go!"
As she began to walk toward the trees, Harry bent down to say something to me.
"You know, you could've just said we came by boat." He whispered.
"I wasn't going to lie! And what if she asked to see the boat? Some things are better left unsaid, Harry."
"Either way, I can't believe that she's being so nice to us - I mean, we seem so suspicious!"
"Quiet - she's going to suspect us for sure with you going on about this. We're not shady, so why are we acting like it? Let's catch up with her." What Harry said was true though, she must be so trusting because she's never been off this island. The absolute opposite of the Isle kids.
We walked on either side of her. I stared up at the palm trees and straw huts. This is nothing like Auradon. It's so simple and secluded.
I took off my cape, and even Harry stripped off his pirate coat. This weather was not suitable for the layers we were prepared with. Thankfully I wore something light inside.
I was so busy taking in the stunning surroundings that I forgot to look at where I was going - typical. I bumped into a guy with a solid set of abs.
