This chapter is longer and it's one of my favourite chapters that I've written! Fr, I love it sm :)))(I hope you do too! It's always fun to see a different POV once in a while...)

Your POV

The next day neither Johnny or Uma made any indication they even knew each other, completely avoiding the sight of the other. It made our lunchtime incredibly awkward, and we had to split up the usual six of us into two groups of three: Uma, Harry, and Kai, and then me, Johnny, and Maya - we'd all rotate until we found a better solution. To my dismay, all of this seemed to substantially reduce the time Harry and I got to spend together - one of us would always be around either Johnny or Uma.

In whatever free time I could get, I flipped through the spellbook, and tirelessly attempted to get farther in the memory - it always ended at the same point though, and after a while, my frustration with it led me to stop trying for a while.

After school, I caught up with Johnny - alone - and we decided to go for a walk around the grounds to talk.

"Why in the world didn't you reply to Uma's message last night?"

"I just couldn't." He kicked a pebble as we were walking.

"It would have made her day."

"How long could we go on like that (y/n)? It's not like we'd magically wake up and this problem would have been a one-off thing! There's no point continuing like this."

"Great, so your solution is to sulk around school, and be miserable all the time? I thought you had more sense than that, Johnny. People don't keep opinions forever, and Ursula will come around. In the meantime, just make the most of what you can."

He just huffed as we continued. "Can we drop the topic for now? Let's not go in loops."

"Fine, but I'll have you know that I promised Uma to find a solution by Friday - and when I do, you're going to go along with it."

"That's not a good idea."

"I won't be rash. The solution I find will be foolproof, without a doubt." I just need to think of something I haven't considered yet... and soon. "And by the way - I had to do a lot of dodging the truth for you... which you know I hate. So can you just cooperate with the situation, and keep in touch with her? It'll only break her heart to act as you are, and you don't want that, right?"

"Of course, sorry about that. I feel I've taken advantage of your willingness to help."

"Nonsense - but I wouldn't mind if you made it easier for me, that's all." I grinned. He put his arm around me comfortingly in response. Apology accepted, I thought.

"Hey (y/n), who's that?"

"Her?"

He nodded in affirmation.

"Oh, that's Ruby, I can't believe you haven't met yet!"

"Ruby... is she a princess?"

"Uh, yeah, she's Ruby Rider. The only child of Queen Rapunzel and King Eugene of the Kingdom of Corona. You must've seen her at one of the balls you've attended since summer, or seen her on TV at a royal event."

"Of course, and she does bear a striking resemblance to her mother's picture in Mother Gothel's place. Creepy that she still keeps that."

I laughed. "Come on, I'll introduce you!"

Ruby was sitting down in front of an easel painting some tree in the distance. She was remarkable at art, and was almost always drawing, sketching, painting, or sculpting something.
