"You're ready," Marka Ragnos affirms. You put your hood up and unsheathe your lightsaber, the red heat melting the snow as you walk.
Not long after Finn killed your parents, you learned that you weren't just Force sensitive.
No, you are much, much more.
You retreated to Jedha where Marka Ragnos' books were rumored to be. You killed and tortured people for that information, so once you found them, you harnessed all the information you could from them.
Eventually, Marka Ragnos' Force Ghost came to visit and trained you. He sensed something in you that, in his words "rival even the anger and hatred of the late Darth Vader." Kylo Ren, or as he calls himself now, Ben Solo, stops ten feet away from you.
"You really searched months just to find me?" you question. Kylo— Ben— walks a little closer, unwisely turning off his lightsaber.
"Yes. I needed to find you."
"I was going to find you, but you saved me the trouble."
"(Y/N)—"
"I don't go by that," you reply darkly. "(Y/N) is no more. Darth Irze has risen from the ashes."
"Darth Izre is a mask, much like Kylo Ren was. (Y/N) (Y/L/N) is very much alive." You chuckle.
"You were weak. You let Rey change you. I will not be weak." Ben's face softens, making your stomach churn.
"Rey didn't change me. You did," he whispers. You clench your jaw. "Come home. Come home to Rey. To Poe. To me."
"You killed my family!" you scream. "You took everything from me. And for that, you'll pay." Without another word, you lunge. Kylo— Ben—barely has time to take out his lightsaber to meet yours. You clash as you slowly manage to overpower him. You kick his legs out from underneath him and he lands on his back. You kick his lightsaber away and point your lightsaber at his chest. He stares up at you and the look in his eyes rocks you, breaking through your barrier slightly.
There's no sign of fear in his eyes.
Only understanding.
"Do it," Marka Ragnos orders. "He's the reason your parents are dead. He took them from you. He claimed he loved you, yet his actions proved otherwise. He betrayed you, (Y/N)." You move your lightsaber closer to his chest.
"End him," a new voice urges. You freeze, glancing to your right.
"Mom?"
"He's the reason we're dead. Kill him." You shake your head.
"No. This... this isn't you."
"He killed us! Your father and I! Kill him!"

"Hey, Mommy?" you ask, tugging on her shirt.
"What, baby?" She smiles, pausing her cooking.
"Kids in school are talking about how Darth Vader killed people because he wanted revenge. I told them what you told me, but they called me weak and ignorant," you pout. Your mom puts her whisk down and kneels to your level.
"They just follow the crowd, honey. You're right. Revenge is never the answer. Revenge makes you no better than the ones who cause the damage. You understand?" You nod. She kisses the tip of your nose and you squeal.
"You're so smart, Mommy."
"A trait I passed down to you. Now, go wash up. Dinner is almost ready."

"You never believed in revenge," you whisper. "This isn't right. You're not real."
"Your parents were weak, and that's why they were killed! Now end him!" Marka Ragnos bellows. You look down at Ben, who's watching you. He knows what's going on. He went through it, too.
"No." You turn your lightsaber off and get off of Ben, turning to Marka Ragnos. "No, my mom never believed in revenge. She wouldn't want me to do this."
"Coward! Weak, like your mother. Your mother is dead because she refused to learn the ways of the Dark Side, and she was killed because of it! You're no better than them!" You narrow your eyes and step forward menacingly.
"Do not talk about my mother that way." Ben's breath hitches and you know Marka Ragnos revealed himself.
"If you turn back, I'll kill you."
"You're dead. You can't touch me," you spit.
"Oh, really? I am not a Jedi. I am not bound by the ways of the Force. Yoda and Obi-Wan may not be able to step in and fight, but I can." Before you can react, his lightsaber pierces your stomach.
"No!" Ben cries. You stare down at the translucent lightsaber as he retracts it before disappearing. Ben catches you before you hit the ground.
"I'm sorry," you whisper. He brushes your hair out of your face.
"It's not your fault. You're going to be okay. We're going to go home together." You close your eyes and focus on breathing.
"I'm not leaving this planet."
"Yes, you are." He lays a hand over your stomach and closes his eyes. You know what he's trying to do, but it won't work.
"Ben." He shakes his head and focuses harder, the veins in his forehead bulging with the amount of energy it's taking. "Ben Solo, enough," you say with as much energy as you can muster. He opens his eyes, a tear falling.
"I can't lose you again. I just got you back."
"You know I'll always be with you." You reach up and cup his cheek, wiping his tears. "Just not physically."
"Please don't leave," he begs.
"I don't have a choice. Tell Rey and Poe that I'm sorry." His eyes harden with determination once again and he places his hand on your stomach again.
"You're going to tell them yourself." Even as he tries, you can feel yourself slipping away.
"Look at me." He does, his dark eyes holding so much pain. It breaks your heart, but you know he'll be okay.
"I love you," he chokes out. He leans down and presses a desperate kiss to your lips, his fingers tracing your jaw gently. He pulls away, resting his forehead against yours. He grips your hand as you take your final breaths.
