Life has been challenging since the war.
Very few have gone back to finish their education at Hogwarts, and those that have could barely spend one day within the walls without needing to leave for a few hours.
The professors, of course, understood. Many had lost loved ones to the war, and around every corner, you'd see their faces.
You and Draco were together throughout all of it. Even after the war, you two had managed to thrive. You left Britain to see the world, and Draco went with you. Every destination was a dream with him by your side.
Until it fell apart.
You don't know when it happened, but soon, you slept on opposite sides of the bed. A few weeks after that, you started getting separate hotel rooms. You barely talked. Soon, you became acquaintances, traveling together only for company-- company that was no longer enjoyable.
After a night in Greece, you told him it was over. You couldn't stay in a relationship where there was no love.
There was still love, of course. At least from your side. You loved him so much. You wanted to fix it, but you didn't know how. You didn't know if you could.
He said nothing, only helping you pack in tense silence. After a terse goodbye, you left.
That was four years ago.
Since then, you'd moved on. It was hard at first, but you and Oliver Wood reconnected. Soon, there was a spark, which grew into a flame, and now you two are engaged.
The future Mrs. Oliver Wood. You couldn't be happier.
"Would you like another butterbeer?" Hermione asked you. You nodded, pushing your empty mug to the side to make room for a new one. It was your bachelorette party and, for old times sake, it was at The Three Broomsticks. Ginny throws an arm around you, grinning.
"Who knew that you and Oliver Wood would be getting married! I mean, you hated him in school." You scoff.
"I did not. We were merely Quidditch rivals. It was all in good fun," you protest.
"Could've fooled me," Ginny laughs.
"Sod off," you joke, shoving her arm off of you. "I'm going to order us another round, since Hermione seems to have gotten sidetracked," you point out, gesturing to a tipsy Hermione dancing in the middle of the venue. You, Ginny, and Luna laugh at the rare sight of Hermione letting loose.
"You'd think it was her party," Luna comments.
"Right? I'll be right back." You somehow make it to the bar, and Madam Rosmerta smiles brightly at you.
"Another round, dear?"
"Please."
"Coming right up." You lean against the bar, waiting for your drinks, when someone bumps into you.
"Hey!" you exclaim, unable to keep all your balance in your slightly inebriated state.
"Sorry, love," a familiar voice says. You freeze, willing yourself to just stay put and not turn around. Unfortunately, your body has other ideas, and soon you're looking into a pair of grey eyes.
Grey eyes that you'd dreamt about non-stop for the first two years, and struggled to forget for the last two.
"What're you doing here?" you ask, your voice coming our snappy.
"Visiting my old stomping ground. What are you doing here?" he counters. Feeling petty, you hold up your left hand, the impressive rock glimmering in the light. He tries, and fails, to keep his expression even. "Who?"
"Oliver Wood." He snorts, shaking his head.
"That prat? Please." You bristle, your jaw clenching.
"Pardon? That's my fiancé you're insulting, Malfoy. You don't get to come in and express your unwanted opinion after what you did." His eyes widen, before narrowing in defiance.
"What I did? You made no effort."
"Neither did you! You just let it happen, like you wanted to throw the ten years out the window."
"Rubbish," he snaps. "That was all you."
"You were the first one to get a separate hotel room, right after I tried to get closer to you in bed," you remind him. He closes his mouth, a fleeting look of regret crossing his face. "Besides, Oliver is a better man for me. He loves me, and never lets me forget it."
"I bet he doesn't know everything about you," Draco replies, leaning against the bar.
"Of course he does. I'm marrying the man, after all," you shoot back.
"Does he know you love the color yellow, but hate the song?"
"Yes," you lie. He knows you love yellow, but he knows you don't like the song, mostly because Oliver loves it.
"And what about what you said to me when we were drunk it Montreal?"
"It was a different time. He doesn't need to know about that."
"You told me I was always going to be the only one," he reminds you.
"Stop it."
"I bet you told him all about me, but not everything. Not how close we held each other for years. Not the plans for an elopement. Not the drunk nights, and stolen kisses. He doesn't know about those, does he?"
"I said stop."
"You probably told him I was someone you used to know, right? And you probably told him that your feelings for me are all gone."
"They are," you insist, having had enough of his manipulation. Rosmerta sets the four beers onto the bar, and you methodically grab them all. "I left us in Greece four years ago, and never looked back. You should have done the same."
You walk away for the second time, but this time, you told yourself it didn't hurt as much.
Draco was right about one thing. Oliver doesn't know it all.
He doesn't know that you love the color yellow but hate the song.
He doesn't know about the things you said to Draco when you were drunk with Draco in Montreal.
And you'll never tell him that you told Draco that he'd always be the only one.
Even as you watched Draco walk out of the bar, you knew that even if you told Oliver that your feelings for him were all gone, it would be a lie.
Because you still love Draco Malfoy.

I know he doesn't know it all
No, he don't know that you and me had something chemical
The things you said to me when we were drunk in Montreal
I bet you told him about me, but I know he doesn't know it all
