Being sent away for your own protection wasn't how you wanted your senior year of college to go. Being sent to Asgard for your own protection is something you never anticipated. Even when you became friends with the Avengers, you never thought someone would come after you.

The only reason you're tied up is because whoever is out to get you wants to hurt Steve. Steve is basically your adoptive father. Not officially, of course. When you came to him not as a starstruck girl, but as someone who wanted to learn more about the past, he took a liking to you.

So, because of your connection with Steve and the team, some otherworldly freak-show decided "hey, let's get the one who doesn't know jack shit about self-defense!"

Honestly, what you wouldn't give to be something other than book-smart some days.

When Steve and the others learned of how big the threat was, Steve wanted to find you a safe-house until they could get a hand on who this asshole is and how they can get rid of him. So, when Tony jokingly suggested Asgard, Thor readily agreed.

So, that's what landed you here, on Asgard. You lay on the uncomfortably soft mattress and continue to read the Harry Potter series for the fifth time since you've been here. Thor leaves and comes back with updates every week, bless his heart. And when he's gone?

Loki's in charge.

Loki doesn't know why you're here, nor does he care. And honestly, you can't blame him. You wouldn't care, either.

A knock sounds at the door and you sit up, bookmarking the Prisoner of Azkaban.

"Come in," you call out, assuming it's Thor with the weekly update. Black Italian dress shoes step over the threshold, and Troy Bolton's golf shoes immediately pop into mind. Not something you can see Thor wearing. You look up and, to your surprise, see Loki standing there. You try not to gawk at his appearance, for he is one beautiful man.

"I trust that you're enjoying your stay?" he asks sarcastically.

A beautiful man with a horrible attitude, that is.

"Great, until you walked in," you snap back. You're walked over on Earth, you're not about to be walked over on another damn planet. His eyes widen a tad, obviously not expecting you to return with your own attitude.

"So, enlighten me, why are you here?" He asks, strolling further into the room. You sigh and set your book down, knowing you won't be able to read in peace until you satisfy his false curiosity.

"Some dude is after me so the team sent me here while they figure out how to get rid of him." You cross your legs, waiting for his barbed comment.

"Why is he after you?" He picks up a picture of you and the team at Disney World for your twenty-first birthday.
