Once upon a time, Embry Call was your best friend. You two did everything together. You were attached to the hip, the dynamic duo. One was never anywhere without the other.

Until that wasn't the case.

He cut his hair, got a tattoo, and started following Sam around like a little puppy. Not only that, but he didn't talk to you anymore. One day, he just stopped. You tried talking to him, but he never looked you in the eyes, and only replied shortly.

Soon, you stopped trying. You didn't know what to do except mourn the loss of someone who wasn't even dead. One good thing that came from Embry abandoning you was your friendship with Bella Swan and the Cullens. You especially took to Emmett Cullen. He reminded you of your late older brother, and you found comfort in that.

"(Y/N), would you please come socialize?" Emmett calls from the porch. You ignore him, staring at your steering wheel. Your car door opens, and Emmett stands there, giving you a look.

"Emmett, I really don't think this is a good idea."

"C'mon, (Y/N/N), it's the only graduation party you'll ever attend!"

"College," you point out.

"High school graduation party," he adds. You sigh and get out of the car, much to Emmett's glee. You lock the door and walk into the Cullen's house, avoiding bumping into your fellow classmates. You follow Emmett around, until you're swept into the arms of Alice.

"(Y/N)! I didn't think you would show up," she chirps. You return the hug, smiling at her warmness.

"I didn't think so, either, but Emmett it persistent," you laugh. Emmett grins from beside you as Alice lets you go. "Great party."

"Don't lie," Alice laughs. "I know you don't want to be here."

You grimace. "It's nothing against you."

"I know, don't worry. Rosalie isn't having a good time, either."

"Yeah, well, Rosalie never seems to have a good time, which I can relate to." Emmett chuckles and shakes his head.

"Don't I know it." You smack his arm, watching as Bella approaches, looking about as psyched to be there as you are.

"Hey," she says to you, a small smile on her face.
