Clarke stares at the man she's come to trust. The man she's come to depend on, the man who's become her rock.

She looks in his eyes for any type of recognition, any hint of the old Bellamy still in him.

Nothing.

Tears fall freely as she points the gun at him, her hand shaking.

"Bellamy, please. Come back to me," she pleads. Bellamy says nothing, just stalks towards her with empty eyes. As Bellamy gets closer, Clarke doesn't even think about whether or not to pull the trigger.

She tosses the gun to the side.

Bellamy stops momentarily, looking slightly confused. Clarke's heart beats a little faster, praying that Bellamy is coming back. Back to himself. To her.

Her hope is short lived when his fist meets her face. She falls back, blood dripping from her nose. She doesn't even try to fight back.

She can't hurt him. She won't. She's hurt him enough in the time they've known each other, and she won't do it again.

"Bellamy, please." Clarke's pleas go over his head as he swings again. Clarke ducks and Bellamy stumbles forward. He turns back to her, glaring. He attacks, this time striking Clarke in the ribs. She clutches her side, tears of physical and emotional pain making it hard to see.

"What did they do to you?" She coughs.

"You're my mission," Bellamy deadpans.

Clarke's heart explodes. She's spent enough time learning about the Disciples to know that when given a target, they don't stop until he or she is dead. Clarke struggles to her feet.

"Bellamy, listen to me. Remember when you saved me from that pit when rescuing Jasper?" Clarke tries. Nothing registers on Bellamy's face. He punches her again, Clarke not having enough time to avoid it.

"Remember when I hugged you after escaping Mount Weather? Remember when you were there to keep me grounded as I wrote the list to choose who lives and who dies?" Clarke rambles, trying anything to get him to remember. To feel.

But nothing works. Punch after punch is thrown, and Clarke takes them all.

She deserves this.

She didn't realize Bellamy was gone sooner.

If she did, they wouldn't be in this situation.

If she did, Bellamy wouldn't be holding a gun to her head.

For a moment, Clarke considers trying to talk to him. To try one more time to bring him back.

"It's okay. You do what you have to do, Bellamy. It's okay," she whispers. Bellamy falters, a flicker of something hidden in his eyes. That hesitation is enough to give Clarke a dangerous amount of hope.

She ducks, twisting Bellamy's hand so he drops the gun. She brings him to the ground, straddling him so he stays still. Bellamy struggles, anger radiating off of him. Whatever training they made Bellamy go through has paid off as he flips her over and wraps his hands around her neck.

The pressure steadily increases. Clarke's vision darkens as she feels the life slowly leaving her.

So this is how it ends, she thinks.

"I love you, Bellamy," she chokes out. The pressure doesn't cease as Clarke takes her final breath.

Like a switch, Bellamy can breathe. He can think for himself. He can feel.

He can feel his hands around someone's neck. His vision focuses on Clarke, her eyes closed, her face tinted purple and blue. He scrambles off of her and pulls her to him.

"Clarke?" He whispers. He searches frantically for a pulse. He finds nothing. He places his hands over her chest and begins pumping.

It worked before. It has to work now.

"C'mon, Clarke. C'mon!" His arms grow tired as he tries desperately to bring her back. Back to him, even though he took her away. "Please, Clarke. Please," he cries. He stops, bringing her body to his and holding her tight.

And so he sits there, crying into the shoulder of the woman he loves, but never got to tell.
