The first thing Klaus Mikaelson did was fly into a rage, killing anyone and everyone that took you from him. After heads were detached and hearts were ripped out, Klaus knelt by your body, pulling you to him. He cried into your shoulder, rocking you back and forth.
Klaus doesn't blame himself for much, but one thing he never stopped blaming himself for was your death. He hates his parents for making him immortal because he would give anything to hold you again.

He lost the only thing that brought him joy and light. Now his world is once again shrouded and darkness, and there's no one to pull him out.
