You rush through the halls, dodging storm troopers as you search for the man who is going to kill your family.

"Kylo!" you scream as you spot his helmet. His body stiffens, and you push through the stormtroopers.

"Miss (Y/L/N)," he answers, his robotic voice annoyingly even.

"We need to talk," you huff, trying not to brace your hands on your knees.

"I'm busy. Another time," he dismisses.

"Now, Kylo," you snap. Everyone around him holds their breath, waiting to see what he'll do.

He won't do anything because he can't. If he does, he'll never see colors again.

Without another word, he starts to walk toward an empty room. You follow him in as he closes the door.

"What?" he demands.

"Is it true? Are you going after Rey?" He says nothing, just looking down at you through that stupid mask.

"Yes."

"You said you wouldn't!" You can't see his face, but you know his jaw is clenched. "You lied?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"You wouldn't eat. It was the only way I could get you to keep yourself healthy. Otherwise—"

"Otherwise, you'd lose your ability to see colors, right? Is that it?" you demand. "Because that's all you care about. That's all you ever cared about. Even after seven months of being held here, that's all you care about. Damn how I feel about being stuck on this piece of junk in the sky, damn how I feel about being separated from the only family I've ever known, damn how I feel about you. Right? It's all about you."

"How do you feel about me?" he asks quietly. You're too angry to be shy or embarrassed.

"I was starting to love you, and I thought that maybe, just maybe, you could feel the same. But fuck me, right? Wishful thinking always was a bad habit I meant to shake."

"(Y/N)—"

"Take off that stupid thing when you speak to me," you snap. He takes off the mask, and you try not to let him see how his beauty still affects you.

"I do..." he trails off, looking off to the side.

"You do what?" you ask, holding your breath.

"I do love you." You take a deep breath.

"Then don't do this. Don't take them away from me." He's quiet for a moment before he meets your eyes.

"I have to." Your heart sinks, and you close your eyes briefly.
