Ever since that afternoon, things had gotten so much better between Tamaki and Mirio. You were even closer with them than before, and what made it better was that you knew you were loved. You knew they loved you, and that they were willing to wait until you were ready.
Everything was going smoothly for Tamaki and Mirio. Just as they expected, you had fallen for them. After all that hard work, all the watching, all the holding back, they finally got you. Now all they had to do was wait until you were ready to be theirs forever.
They were in the home stretch and all they had to do was wait. Nobody would be in their way, since they were all you had and all you needed. Or so they thought.
It was a cool afternoon, and you were walking back home with Tamaki and Mirio like usual. Letting out a little yawn, you leaned against Tamaki's shoulder, feeling a little tired.
"You alright there, sunshine? You look like you're about to pass out." Mirio asked, taking your hand and intertwining it with his, helping you stand up straight.
"Yeah, I'm just a little tired. I had to work late last night and Eri couldn't fall asleep until I came back. She's been getting like that for a while. It's sort of worrying." You admitted, rubbing your eyes with your free hand.
"Aw, sunshine, you worry too much. I'm sure things will get bett-"
"Oh my god. Wait a second, is that..." You interrupted Mirio, letting go of his hand as you walked ahead of him.
There, at your driveway, stood a rather tall, and older teen male, who had messy hair, and wore dark, leather clothing.
"Toya!" You exclaimed, running over and jumping on him, wrapping your arms around his chest. You knew this guy?
He hugged you back, his hands holding you a little lower than Tamaki and Mirio liked, being right under your waist, and getting dangerously close to your ass. "Hey there, doll. I'm surprised you recognized me."
"Of course! I could recognize you from anywhere, Toya, no matter what color you dye your hair. With that slouch and those blue eyes, I'll always know it's you." The two hadn't seen you this excited in a long time. Who was this guy, and what was he to you? Whoever he was, Tamaki and Mirio didn't like him.
"I go by Dabi now." He corrected. You repeated his new name to yourself, giving him a cute little grin.
"So, Dabi, what're you doing here?" You asked him curiously. "Well, I was in town for some business stuff, and I thought I'd drop by, and see you again. How long has it been, hm? Four years? You've grown a lot."
"Well, you've grown too-" Your conversation was interrupted by a small throat clearing from Mirio, making you realize where you were and who you were with.
"Oh my gosh! Sorry guys, I guess I got a little distracted." You said embarrassedly, looking back at the two younger boys. "This is Dabi. He's my old friend and next-door neighbor. And Dabi, these are my best friends, Mirio and Tamaki."
Dabi grinned, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and looking over at them. "Thanks for dealing with her. This kid can be a big troublemaker."
"You're the one who breaks all the rules!" You argued back playfully, not even noticing Mirio's fists balling up, and Tamaki's mouth twitching a little.
"Why don't we all go inside and catch up?" You offered, Dabi immediately complying while the others were a little hesitant.
"Sure," Mirio said through gritted teeth, Tamaki following after.
While you blabbered about some things that were happening recently, Tamaki and Mirio sat together, glaring jealously at the older teen. They didn't even bother to chime in when they were mentioned, Mirio occasionally nodding along while Tamaki simply sat in silence.
They noticed that you didn't tell Dabi about your problems with your mother and Eri, or Nejire, or about what happened with Shigaraki. It felt good to know that you trusted them more with your problems than him, but it didn't stop the utter rage and jealousy they both had.
The tea kettle you had on the oven then squealed, making you jump a little. You seemed way too eager to even focus on anything. "Oh, the tea's ready! I'll be right back. Why don't you guys talk? Get to know each other."
"Sure thing, Dollface." Dabi nodded, the two boys wincing at the pet name. There was a small tense silence, and all the younger boys wanted to do was just bust this prick's head in. He sat back on the couch, a smug smile on his face.
"So, how long have you known (y/n)?" Mirio asked, finally trying to make some conversation.
"Ever since we were kids, I think. It's hard to put a date on it. And you've known (y/n) for...four months?" Dabi replied, and he knew exactly what he was doing, the smug bastard.
"Five, actually." Mirio corrected. "But wow, it must be so interesting growing up with that age gap you have. In a way, it's kind of weird."
That managed to strike a nerve with the dark haired boy, making his smile disappear quickly. "So, what line of work are you in, Dabi? It must be something with traveling if you're willing to come all the way here and still be able to stop by and see (y/n), it must be a nice job."
"I guess you could say I'm a....salesman of sorts. And no, I don't move around very often. One of my bosses has gone off the grid, and it's almost like he just disappeared into thin air. Some think that he's..." Dabi trailed off, drawing a slow, intimidating line over his throat. "So, they sent me down to come to see what's going on. You ever heard of a guy named Tomura Shigaraki?"
Oh shit. He knows. He knows it all, doesn't he? How could they have missed this? They scoured his place, practically turning it upside down.
Tamaki swallowed the lump in his throat, looking over at Mirio nervously. He slid his hand into his, giving his hand a small squeeze.
"No, I'm afraid not." Mirio lied easily.
"He's thin, scraggly looking, with messy blue hair? Do me a favor and keep your eyes peeled, and let me know if you see him around, okay?"
"You got it. Anything to get you back to your bosses." Mirio said smoothly.
They had dug themselves into quite the hole, haven't they?
