When you arrived back home where Tamaki and Mirio had been waiting, you were hysterical and upset, your mind all twisted from Nejire's words. How could you trust her? After all the things she did to you, you still tried to befriend her.
Of course, this would happen. You were too trusting. Too naive. Too dumb. After Chisaki, Shigaraki, and Dabi, you would think you'd be able to tell when people were using you. But no. You had barely changed. Barely grown. You were still the same, weak, stupid girl, and you were starting to grow tired of it.
"(Y/n), (y/n), hey, what's wrong?" Mirio asked, wiping away the tears streaming down your face. And now you were crying too? It was so embarrassing.
"You guys were right about Nejire. She lied to me, saying all of these crazy things and, why does this keep happening to me? Why am I just a magnet for all these horrible people? Am I just that stupid?" Your breathing was shaky, and you sucked in a breath, trying to get yourself together.
"No, no you're not. You're kind. You see the best in everyone. It's one of your greatest qualities and it's what makes you, you." Mirio told you, Tamaki rubbing soothing circles on your back.
"I-It really is." He agreed. "What did Nejire do?"
You looked from one boy to the other, trying to find the right way to say the things she said to you. Looking them in the eyes, you doubted they could be murderers, and you absolutely knew she was lying. You felt ashamed that even the smallest part of yourself could think they could do something so horrible.
"She was acting all crazy and saying these insane things. In the end, it was obvious she was just trying to push me away from you guys." You answered.
Mirio and Tamaki traded glances, before looking at you. "What did she say?"
"She said- She said-" You took a deep breath. "She said that you guys stalked me and- you killed Shigaraki, Dabi, and Chisaki."
Mirio's fist balled up in anger, and Tamaki held his hand, calming him down. "That's insane. You don't believe that, do you?"
"Of course not. I mean, if I did, do you seriously think I would be here with you right now?" You questioned.
If you were completely honest with yourself, a part of you had debated if you should take some time and think this over some more, if there was even the smallest chance that Nejire was right. But you knew you were being irrational, so you came back right away.
"She- she did have a point though. Not to say that you did something like that. It's just- Shigaraki and Dabi disappeared out of nowhere. And I know Dabi, this isn't like him. Isn't it a little too convenient that Chisaki just left? I know him, and that isn't like him either." You rambled, and if you kept on going like this, you would have it all figured out.
Tamaki and Mirio had to do something to stop you. So they improvised, Mirio taking the lead. "Do you hear yourself right now? I love you, (y/n), but you sound crazy. Who would want all of them gone? Why would we want them gone? If anything, it sounds like something you would benefit the most from. You knew all of them, after all. We didn't."
"What? No, I-" You started before you were cut off by Tamaki.
"You're not stupid, (y/n) but you are naive. Especially if you believe the crazy shit Nejire's saying in the slightest. Shigaraki stalked you, of course, he'd take off when you found out. And Dabi was on the road for his work. We had to get the police to talk with Chisaki for that last part. They made sure he wouldn't come back."
"We would never hurt you. We risked our lives for you. Bringing those gangs in and calling the police, we did all of this because we love you. Yet you still accused us of all of these horrible things. We're not monsters. But if you think we could do something like this, then maybe we should go." Tamaki and Mirio turned to leave, before you stopped them, grabbing their arms.
"Wait- wait. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to accuse you. I would never accuse you of something like that. You're right. I was being crazy. I don't deserve you both. I love you. So so much. I'm so sorry." You held their arms gently, biting your lip, and holding back tears.
They both turned back to you, and you let go of them, keeping your eyes on the floor. They were right. God, what was wrong with you? They were the best thing that happened to you and you accuse them of murder? You were horrible. Truly horrible. You sniffled softly, keeping your eyes on the ground.
Mirio and Tamaki wrapped their arms around you, holding you softly and rocking you back and forth. "Shh, Shh, it's okay. We forgive you. We love you too. We know you didn't mean it."
"B-but promise us one thing." Tamaki chimed in. "Promise us you'll stay away from Nejire."
"I promise. She's crazy. I won't ever go near her again." You sniffled, wiping your tears away.
"Good." They hated playing the bad guys and manipulating you this way, but they knew it was the only way they could make you understand. For now at least. Soon, eventually, they would tell you the truth. But not yet. You weren't ready yet.
Once they managed to calm you down, they let you go, stepping away. You took a deep, shaky breath, relaxing. "There's one more thing we wanted to ask you," Mirio told you.
You nodded eagerly and rapidly, trying to show the two that you would be willing to do anything for them. Like they would for you. "There's a dance coming up, and we were wondering if you'd like to go with us."
"I'd love to."
