You continued down the hall, sighing softly. Mirio and Tamaki were busy with the next pep rally, leaving you all alone. It was a bittersweet moment, having this much time to yourself. Even though things had called down slightly, you still had a lot going on.

Ever since Dabi left, you were struggling to sleep. Having constant nightmares that he was dead. Sometimes, you feared he was. Mirio said it was your subconscious telling you to let go, but it still felt strange. The only time you could sleep was when you were with Mirio and Tamaki, having them coax you back to sleep after another nightmare.

And that wasn't the only thing. Just last night, your father called you, saying he was coming back to visit. The conversation was short, brief, but it was enough to stir you up. He had been gone for such a long time, why did he even want to come back?

He had abandoned you. He abandoned your mother, and most importantly, he abandoned Eri. Leaving her without a father. And it infuriated you.

The calling of your name and a hand grabbing your shoulder pulled you out of your thoughts, making you break your stride. It was Nejire.

You hadn't seen her ever since your fight and suspension. What could she want now? The principal said you two should stay away from each other, that you two should minimalize interaction.

Didn't she learn from last time that you weren't one to be messed with? Isn't that what you're supposed to do with bullies? Stand up to them? Show that you can't be pushed around? You did. And she left you alone. So why was she back here now?

"What do you want, Nejire? I thought we weren't supposed to be around each other." You questioned, your voice blunt and brutal, showing your exact intent.

You were done with playing nice and seeing the best in her. While you had been nothing but kind and understanding to her, all she had been was horrible to you.

"I just want to talk." She said, and for the first time that you've ever spoken with her, her tone was nonthreatening. You still weren't buying it.

"No thanks." You didn't even look at her, too busy, going through your locker and collecting your things.

"Listen, I know I haven't been the nicest-"

"Are you fucking kidding? You body shamed me, threatened me, pushed me around, beat me up, manipulated me, there's a reason why I don't want to talk to you. So why can't you just go?" You interrupted her.

She took a deep breath, still not leaving you alone. "I'm sorry. I've been thinking about everything I've done to you and it's truly horrible. I wanted to make amends and start fresh."

"Do you seriously think I'm that stupid? That's bullshit. Stop fucking with me Nejire. I'm not going to let you use me. At least just be yourself, instead of hiding it." You snapped, and listening to yourself, it felt like you were a completely different person. Someone stronger. Someone colder.

"I'm not! I'm not, I promise. Please, just give me a second chance." She told you, causing you to finally look up and make eye contact with her.

Her lavender eyes seemed sorrowful, empathetic, and truthful. There was no hint of deceit behind them. You sighed softly. Even though you had grown more skeptical of people and this world, you still believed everyone deserved a second chance. Even the ones that were complete assholes to you. "Alright, okay. But this better not be a way to get at me or-"

"It's not." She reassured you, smiling and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Hi, I'm Nejire Hadou. It's nice to meet you."

"(Y/n) (l/n). It's nice to meet you too." You said with a slight grin, shaking her hand.

Suddenly, the bell rang, stirring you from your thoughts. "Sorry, I have to get to class. But, I'll talk to you later?"

"That'd be great." She smiled, watching as you walked off.

Nejire sighed to herself dreamily, clutching her binder a tightly and holding it to her chest. Things had definitely changed.

At first, she hated you, wanted you gone, dead, away from her friends. And that hatred blossomed, burned into her soul, it got to a point where she had became obsessed with how much she hated you. But then, she saw the effect that you had on Tamaki and Mirio, and realized that she couldn't compete with you. It was something that she would never have.

And she couldn't help but wonder, why? Was it because of how annoyingly nice you were? How obnoxiously pretty you were? How your ugly body was curvy and soft in all the right places? Then she realized another thing. She was falling for you.

Nejire had always felt this way, the hatred, the jealousy, the want, she just didn't know how to express it. She just didn't want to express it. She didn't want to accept herself. Instead, she took out all her rage and insecurities on you.

And now, she was trying to fix herself. To change and make things right between you two. So she could finally deserve you.

But it seemed that Mirio and Tamaki didn't want things to be that way.

Speaking of the boys, they were standing right in front of Nejire, looking furious. When she went to walk away, Mirio slammed his hand on the locker, stopping her. "What the hell are you doing? Toying with (y/n) like that. I thought we told you to leave her alone."

"I'm don't want any harm. We're becoming friends, actually." She said calmly, and never had she seen Mirio act out so angrily over someone before.

"She's our friend. Not yours." Tamaki chimed in.

"Well, she wants to talk to me after class. So I wouldn't be so sure of that." Nejire smirked.

She didn't even understand why she liked hanging out with them before. Why she loved being a part of the Big Three. Why she had that stupid crush on Tamaki. They weren't worth it. But you were.

"See you guys around, I guess." She shrugged, grinning at the angry boys, and slinging her bag over her shoulder.

Soon enough, she'd take you for yourself. Soon enough, you'd be far away from those toxic, obsessive guys, and alone with her. Which is all she wanted, and where you belonged.
