"What are we going to d-do? He probably knows it was us, w-we're screwed!" Tamaki exclaimed, running his fingers through his dark blue hair.
If only you were there to comfort him and tell him everything would be okay. But no, you were hanging out with Dabi. Which seems like the only thing you wanted to do these days.
Mirio wrapped his arms around Tamaki, pressing the smaller teen against his chest, stroking some of his hair out of his face. "We'll be fine, Tama. If he knew it was us, he would've done something about it already."
"I-I just don't understand, how could we have missed this?" Tamaki asked, head still pressed against his taller companion's chest.
"Sometimes, you just can't find things in people. They're always buried down, deep deep inside." Mirio told him, pressing at Tamaki's chest a bit, and making him blush.
"So, how do we deal with Dabi?" A violent glint shined in Tamaki's eye when he asked that. He wanted to kill him, just as badly as Mirio did.
Mirio grabbed his chin, thinking a bit. "First, we have to focus on going back through Shigaraki's apartment. But, we'd have to deal with Dabi a different way than when we can be dealt with Shigaraki. (Y/n) has a close friendship with him, we can't just throw that out the window. But, I do suppose we could loosen the bond a little."
Tamaki nodded, liking the idea, while a sick smile crossed his lips. They were going to make sure you were theirs by any means necessary. And if that meant killing Dabi? They'd gladly do it.
But first, they still had to deal with the remnants of Tomura Shigaraki. Who, despite being murdered months ago, still seemed to be a problem for them.
--
"I-I can't believe we're back here again," Tamaki muttered, eyeing the familiar apartment complex looming above him.
Once again, they arrived in the dead of night, so no one could catch them. Tamaki felt his hands began to shake. The same hands that slit that man's throat. The same hands that soaked in his blood. The same hands that took a man's life, just for you.
Tamaki let out a shaky breath, feeling himself begin to get all lightheaded and hot. Exhilaration pumped through his veins, and he felt as if that night was replaying all over again. But no, it wasn't going to happen. Not for a while, anyway.
"You okay there, Tama?" Mirio questioned, noticing him shaking.
"Yeah just a little lost in thought, I guess." Mirio took his hand, holding it gently, and giving it a reassuring squeeze.
Oh right, this was also the time when Mirio held his hand back then too. And when he called him "Suneater" and when he made sure everything was okay...Mirio was always so caring and supportive towards Tamaki. It was one of the main reasons why Tamaki was in love with him.
Tamaki knew he had fallen for him years ago, he just hadn't come to terms with his feelings. Not until recently, anyway. He never said anything about it, fearing Mirio would be freaked out and not want to be friends anymore. And Tamaki wouldn't be able to take losing his best friend like that.
But it seemed like Mirio was returning his affections. So, maybe he had more of a chance than he thought. He just needed to find the right time to confess.
The next thing Tamaki knew, Mirio was dragging him up the apartment stairs, walking back over to Shigaraki's flat, where an eviction notice was stapled right on the front door.
"Shit, the landlord might've cleaned the place out. He could've taken all we left in there out." Mirio mumbled in frustration.
"I-I mean, this place doesn't seem well cared for. Maybe t-the landlord just stapled that to the front and didn't do anything else." Tamaki said with a shrug.
Not losing hope, Mirio undid the lock, opening the door. Just as Tamaki told him, the place was in complete disarray, just like they left it. Mirio smiled, kissing Tamaki on the cheek and a little wink. "Nice work, Suneater."
Tamaki felt himself blush at that nickname once again.
Without another thought, the two began to search the apartment. It seemed like the same old things they had already found before. Where were they even supposed to look?
"W-we've been looking for an hour. I don't think anything's here." Tamaki admitted, sitting back on Shigaraki's bed.
"There has to be something here, I just know it. C'mon, don't give up now, Tamaki." Mirio encouraged him, while he continued searching.
With a sigh, the shy teen looked over at a notebook Shigaraki used for video game tactics and calculating taxes. He flipped through a few pages, finally finding something quite interesting.
"M-mirio come look at this." He said, calling his best friend over. "There's something in here written about distribution, and how much to charge people. It doesn't seem like something an employee at a fast-food restaurant would write."
Mirio looked the paper over, then turning away from Tamaki. "There's got to be something else here."
He searched around the room before his eyes locked on a painting on a wall. At first glance, it might just seem like a decoration for the apartment, but Mirio knew, there was something a little more sinister to it.
Moving the painting, he found a baggie of multiple different drugs and quite a few batches of dollars bills. And that's when Mirio realized it.
"That's it! Shigaraki must've had a side job, selling drugs for a ring. And Dabi worked with him. Dabi's not trying to find him, he's trying to find the money for his bosses!"
"A-are you sure?" Tamaki asked, surprised at how his friend could figure this all out so quickly.
"Oh I'm sure, these guys have no moral compasses. I knew it!" Mirio's celebration was short-lived, thanks to the footsteps leading up to their apartment. After putting everything back in its place, they both got out of there.
They finally had something on Dabi, and they were going to expose him for the creep he is, and make sure he stayed away from you. For good.
