"Here you go. Good as new." Hatsume told you, handing you the box. It was completely repaired, and it looked even better than before. "I fixed the paint job too."
"Thank you Hatsume! I owe you one!" You pulled her into a hug, holding her tightly.
"No problem. It's just what I do."
After leaving school with your newly fixed family heirloom, you walked back home, Tamaki and Mirio keeping you company along the way.
"Sorry, it's a little messy. I haven't had guests come over in a while." You said as you unlocked the door to your home, opening it.
Mirio and Tamaki looked around, acting as if they hadn't seen your place before. On the kitchen table, already set, was a birthday banner and some balloons. You also bought a cake and kept it in the fridge. All you needed to do was get everything ready.
"So, here's the plan. Let's just set this stuff up, and then we'll go get Eri. Does that sound good?" You asked them, and they both nodded in reply. "Alright. Mirio, why don't you help me put up this banner, and Tamaki, could you start blowing up some of the balloons?"
The two boys got to work, although they were a little distracted. You stood on your tiptoes, arms above your head as you trying to keep the banner up. Your chest was up in the air, pressing against your school uniform. Did you even realize what you were doing?
Probably not. But Mirio and Tamaki both saw, and forced themselves to look away since they did want to respect you and not violate you in any way.
Something rubbed against your leg, taking you off guard and almost causing you to fall. But you caught yourself and looked down to see what was rubbing against you.
"Oh, finally decided to come out, huh?" You asked the orange puffball that meowed back at you in response.
"Aww, what a cute kitty!" Mirio exclaimed, squatting down and facing the cat. Suddenly, it leaped at him, once again attacking his face.
You had to pull the cat off, it's claws still stuck to Mirio's skin. With a rough tug, you got him off, falling backward. The kitten hissed, jumping out of your hands and running off. "Sorry about that, Mirio. Pumpkin can be such a bipolar brat. I've never seen him just go and attack someone like that before. It's weird."
"It's okay!" He smiled, the scratches on his face now starting to turn red, the blood slowly showing through them.
"Oh goodness! You're bleeding! Tamaki watch over some of the stuff for me. Let's go get you some bandaids." You said, dragging Mirio along to the bathroom.
Mirio sat down on the toilet seat, while you went through the medicine cabinet, grabbing the first aid kit. Carefully, you cleaned off the cuts, disinfecting the wound and putting on the bandaid.
Mirio felt his cheeks heat up as he looked over at your expression, your faces were so close, only breaths apart. Your eyebrows were furrowed, and you bit your lip softly with concentration. It was so cute to see you focused and concerned like that. What made it even better was that you were worried about him. All he would have to do was lean in and he could just kiss you. But he kept himself restrained since he knew he had to wait. There would be a time and a place for that, and it wasn't now.
"Are you gonna kiss it?" Mirio joked, gesturing to the bandaid on his cheek, acting like a five-year-old who wanted his mother to kiss his injury.
You snorted, giggling a bit, and then smirked. You leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss against his bandaid, your soft lips brushing against his skin lightly. Your lips felt like fire against his face. Even though it only lasted for a second or two, it felt like it lasted forever.
