It was a weird thing, having gym class in your junior year, but you didn't mind it. You enjoyed PE a lot since it was sort of like a break between the other academics. You just didn't like the exercising part. Apparently, UA had some weird rules on physical education so, here you were. Sitting on the bleachers with Tamaki and Mirio.
"And then I said, oh, that's just a lamp, but upside down!" Mirio exclaimed, earning a ton of laughs from you, while Tamaki seemed like he heard the story before.
"You come up with the funniest stuff, Mirio. I don't know how you do it." You grinned, giggling a little.
"Hey! Off the hoops!" An angry voice shouted, causing the three of you to look over at the court. It was the same group of boys playing basketball, with one who had just dunked hanging on the brim of the hoop. The old coach grumbled to himself in annoyance, pushing the boys aside and using his cane to pull down the net that had been pushed over. "Punks....next time I catch you three doing this again, you'll all be in big trouble. We're not in our basketball unit yet, so wait."
Your gym teacher, Mr.Torino, or Coach Gran Torino, was the old grumpy type. He was strict and tended to yell a lot, but there would be times where he would have short bursts of energy. You always did like gym teachers like that, so you didn't mind.
"Today, we'll be starting our volleyball unit. So split up into two groups. The more experienced on that side and the beginners on the other."
Wanting to stay with your friends, you went over to the more experienced side, where they were. And that was one of the biggest mistakes you could make.
Volleyballs were flying everywhere, and people were diving after them as if they were in Haikyu or something. Somehow, Mr.Torino didn't catch your bluff and still let you stay on the more experienced side, even though you didn't do anything but watch.
Mirio and Tamaki, on the other hand, were really good. You didn't expect anything less from two of the three best athletes in the school. Especially since Tamaki was on the varsity volleyball team.
Mirio served the ball, tossing it up and hitting it with as much strength he could, causing the ball to soar through the air and land across the court, right to the edge of the bound line. "POWERR!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.
Man, boys could be intense with sports.
He turned back to face you, looking to see if you had seen what he just did, and then giving you a little wink and thumbs up.
It seemed Tamaki was getting just as competitive, hitting the ball right at specific direct points. You had never seen him so powerful.
Together, the two made a great team seeming unstoppable. They were so awesome.
You were too busy admiring your friends to notice that Nejire was fuming with jealousy and was headed straight for you. She jumped up spiking the ball right at your face, and you, being the all-star athlete you were, got slammed. You fell back, twisting your ankle in doing so and landing right on your ass. And then, everything went black.
The next thing you knew, Tamaki and Mirio were standing over you, having concerned and worried expressions on their faces. Blood flooded out of your nose like a running waterfall, quickly dribbling down to your lip. A deep aching pain rushed through your body, going straight to your ankle that throbbed every couple of seconds.
"Jesus, Nejire! That was too hard!" One of the boys called from the other side of the court.
"Oh, sorry! I swear I didn't mean to! But, she should have been paying attention. She is on the experienced side for a reason, so she should know this." Nejire murmured.
