With a small sigh, you dropped your bag on the ground, closing the door behind you. For once, things were looking up. Your relationship was going great, your grades were good, and you still had some time off from work before you had to go back in again.

But it was mainly because of your relationship. Never had you felt this loved before. And it wasn't just that. They made you want to do better. There was just something about it, something about wanting to deserve them that made you want to improve yourself. And it was amazing.

Little did you know there was something that you were neglecting. Your family life. And you would have to learn that the hard way today.

"Where the hell have you been?" Your mother snapped at you, coming in all furious.

"What?" Was all you could say back to her.

"You weren't home last night. You didn't call or text or do anything to let me know!" She shouted. You were in deep shit, and the only way out of it was to remain calm.

"I was with my friends. I paid for a babysitter, I thought that made it obvious I wasn't home. I don't know what the big deal is." You mumbled.

"The big deal is the last time you acted this way was when you were with Chisaki. I swear to god, if you're messing with some older boy again, you'll be in very big trouble. You know what'll happen. I've already told you." That made you snap. And once again, you lost it with her.

"You're such a hypocrite! You've been out, almost every night. I never ask but I know you're out drinking, and you never say a thing! I have to take care of everything like always! Why can't you just let me live a little?" You yelled back, and suddenly, the burning sensation of a hand slapping across your face stunned you.

"You have no idea what I've sacrificed for this family." Was the last thing she said to you, before storming out of the house.

You put a hand on your cheek, feeling the red mark on your skin. You let out a shuddered breath, holding back the tears that were pricking your eyes. She was never like this. She used to be good and kind, but loneliness got to her, and things turned for the worst.

"(Y/n)? Is everything okay? I was taking a nap and I woke up to shouting. W-were you and mom fighting again?" She asked, walking over to you.

"Everything's fine. Don't worry about me and Mom." You swallowed the lump in your throat, forcing a smile on your face. You hated how you had to constantly lie to her. You wished you could tell her the truth. You wished she could listen to you, help you, but you knew she was too young to understand.

"Okay, then. And one more thing. My teacher wants to talk to you."

"What? Did something happen?" You questioned.

"I don't think so. He said he wants to have a parent-teacher conerence." She said, not even realizing her mistake.

"You mean parent-teacher conference?" You giggled. She was just too cute. Even the smallest things she did managed to brighten your day.

"Yeah that. He wants to meet with you about it tomorrow." She explained.

"Alright, why don't we get you a snack, hmm?" You offered, and she nodded, liking the idea.

The next day, after picking Eri up and dropping her off back home, you went to meet with her teacher, Mr.Aizawa. While you didn't know him well, you still found it strange that he could be a preschool teacher. He seemed so low energy, so depressed. The man did always have his hair done so messily, and stubble on his face, not to mention the eye bags too.

He was the complete opposite of the other teachers that Eri had, Mr.Yamada and Ms.Fukukado. From what you could see, and what Eri told you, Mr.Yamada was loud and intense, and always got the kids riled up. And Ms.Fukukado managed to make all the children laugh, sometimes, they would laugh so hard they'd cry or get a stomach ache. One time apparently, one wet their pants.

But, you were never one to judge, and you had seen Aizawa play around with the kids in a much calmer manner than the others, and let them crawl all over him when he napped. He was also very good with Eri, and you really appreciated that. Overall, he seemed like a good man, no matter his personality.

You knocked on the door patiently, waiting for a reply. "Come in." A low, gravelly voice called.

"Hi, I'm here for the parent-teacher meeting for Eri?" You said, making sure you were in the right place.

"(Y/n). I thought your mother would be coming in. This is a parent-teacher conference, after all." He told you. Man, when did this guy not have an attitude?

"Right. Well, my Mom is very busy at work right now, so she didn't have the time to stop by. So, I just told her I'd take some notes and stuff." You pulled out a notepad from your bag, showing him.

He looked from the notepad, then to you, shrugging. "Alright then. I just have a few questions before we begin."

"Yes?"

"Does your mother always miss out on things like this? I mean, I've never even seen her pick Eri up." He started, and you did not like where this conversation was going.

"Well, she's very busy, so she's not around often. It's usually just Eri and me, heh." You explained.

"What about your father?" That question put you in an even worse mood.

"My father is working overseas. He hasn't come back in a couple of years. Things have been rough on my mom and she's had to work a lot more. Can we just continue with the conference?" You asked, clicking your pen.

"Right. I'm sorry, I know those were very personal questions. It's just, while Eri is a good student, she has been showing signs of antisocial behavior. I was just thinking that her home life could've possibly affected her development. She's extremely shy around other students and has a hard time making friends. Mr.Yamada and I have to spend time with her so she doesn't feel lonely." He stated.

Even though he was being serious, you couldn't help but think about Eri playing with the two men. And so the question slipped out. "What do you guys play?"

"Lots of different stuff. Board games, card games, Eri's favorite is uno because she can get us all with plus fours, but that's not my point. The point is, without a parental figure in her life, she could be lost and struggle with many things. So maybe, if there's no one else, you should be there for her." He was right. Eri had no one else but you. You needed to be a better sister.

And that's just what you were going to do.

(A/N: I LOVE DADZAWA WITH ALL MY HEART UGHHHHHHHH
