“What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck?!” Luke said, pacing back and forth.
“We need to go to the police!!” Brittany said.
“No..” Adam said. “What? Why not!” Brittany asked.
“You saw how that police asshole reacted when I wanted to file that missing report, he didn’t give a damn.” Adam said.
“Ugh..You’re right..” Brittany said. “What do we do..?!” Luke asked.
“We find out where this video was taken and we rescue her.” Adam said.
“That’s gonna be hard, It’s really dark I can barely see what the area looks like.” Luke said as he looked closer.
“It’s no use, we’re not able to see it.” Brittany said.
“Come on, there has to be a place where they can brighten this image up. Let’s look around.” Adam said.
They nod in agreement and walk around the town, hoping to find some sort of workplace that offers brighten images.
-2 HOURS LATER-
“Okay, I get that we need to find a place, and we found one but..why does it have to be so shady lookin..” Luke said.
The building in front of the teens is rather old, has some overgrown feel to it, It looks like this place hasn’t had any customers for a while.
“It’s better then nothing..” Adam said as he opened the front door.
A small bell rings as he opens the door.
As the bell stopped ringing, someone emerged from the desk.
“Customers?” The man said. “Hello sir. We need your help.” Brittany said.
“Holy shi..CUSTOMERS! It’s been so long since I had any customers. People nowadays don’t ever wanna buy old fashioned phones and electronics.” The man said.
“Um..why would they..?” Adam asked. “That’s not the epoint! What is it you need?” The man asked.
“I need to brighten this image, I was hoping you can help with that.” Adam said as he hands the man his phone.
The man observes the phone which is showing the image.
“You kids are into some weird shit now and days.” The man said.
“Scavenger hunt!, We’re trying to..figure out where this girl is being held. It’s all a part of it.” Luke said.
“Oh okay, this won't take long. Give me a moment.” The man said as he headed into the back.
“You did not just do that.” Brittany said. “I did, pretty smooth right? Right?” Luke said.
“For you yes.” Adam said. “Words hurt man..” Luke said.
-A FEW MINUTES LATER-
The man comes back and has a sad expression on his face.
“I..have some bad news.” The man said.
“What is it..?” Adam asked. “No matter how bright I make this image it’s still far too dark. I’m afraid you won’t find your fellow student.” The man said.
“No..” Adam said as he cups his mouth, trying not to cry.
“W-Well we should get going, Thank you for your time sir!” Brittany said as she drags both of the boys out of the store.
“What nice kids..” The man said. “Dammit..What the hell are we gonna do?!” Luke asked.
“I don’t know..!” Brittany said. “Whoever this person is they have us wrapped around their thumb. All we can do right now is wait..” Adam said.
“But..!” Luke started to say. Adam holds his hand up, stopping him.
“Shut up..You don’t think I wanna find her too? We don’t know where she is. She could be gettin hurt right now as we know it..I wanna find her so fucking bad but we don’t know where she is! So for right now we have to wait until whoever this is contacts us again. Until then, just wait.” Adam said.
Luke and Brittany fall silent..both of them nod.
“Good, It’s getting dark..We should get back to our houses. We’ll talk more tomorrow.” Adam said.
“Alright..” Luke said. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” Brittany said.
The three split up to their houses. Adam opens the front door and enters.
“Hey sweetie! How was school?” Julia asked.
“It was good mom.” Adam forcefully formed a smile.
“That’s great honey! I made dinner if you're hungry.” Julia said.
“Thanks mom, but I’m not hungry right now. Maybe later.” Adam said.
“Oh alright, Love you honey!” Julia said.
“Love you too mom, I’ll be in my room if you need me.” Adam waved to his mom as he walked upstairs and towards his room.
The smile he had on his face moments ago, faded away to a serious look.
I swear to you Connie, I will find you and I will beat the hell outta whoever did this.
Adam falls on his bed and stares up at the ceiling. I just wanna know why..who would have a reason to do this...and why.
Guess I won’t know, at least I’ll know after I kick their ass.
Adam’s eyelids start to get heavy and drifts off into sleep mode.
-LATER THAT NIGHT-
As Adam is sleeping, not wanting to wake up, he hears something.
A buzzing sound. “The hell…” Adam said as he slowly gets up and yawns.
“Who the...hell..” Adma said as he grabs his phone and checks the time. It is 11:00 P.M, close to midnight.
But as he looks at the time he sees a text message.
From the person who sent that photo of Connie.
Adam immediately widens his eyes and wakes himself up.
He opens the text and reads it. ‘Redwood Highschool. come alone.’ It said.
Adam starts to feel anger boiling up inside him.
He grabs his hoodie and tiptoes downstairs.
Sorry mom, But I need to sneak out for a bit..I’ll be back soon. Adam puts on his hoodie and slowly opens the front door to be greeted with a sound of thunder slowly rolling in.
Damn..rain is coming, Whatever..I need to do this.
I’m coming Connie..I’m gonna save you!!
Adam closes the door and starts running towards the school.
If only he knew what was coming..
