-FLASHBACK-

Around August, when Connie came to our school, no one knew about her deafness.

I was sitting beside my good friend Brittney. I met her a couple of months ago, and we became friends.

"Hey Adam, I heard a girl is coming to school today. This might be your big break," Brittney smirked. Ah, shut up!" Adam said.

Suddenly, the door opens, and a teacher and a young girl walk in. Everybody went silent.

"Kids, I want you to meet our newest student, Connie, " the teacher said, tapping Connie's shoulder.

It was then that she grabbed her notebook from her bag and wrote, "Nice to meet you all. I'm Connie. If you want to talk to me, please write in this notebook. I can't hear." She smiled.

Everyone looked at her and each other.

"She can't hear?" a kid whispered. "Whoa, what a freak! " another kid whispered.

Many whispers were being thrown around in the class.

"Your seat will be...hmm... that one, the one in front of Adam. Adam, please raise your hand, " the teacher said. Huh? Me?

Adam raises his hand and sees Connie coming towards him.

"Hehe..." Brittney said. Adam looked at Brittany with a semi-worried look,

"Don't even think about it," Adam said. Brittney gave him a death glare but smiled.

"Aww, come on. It'll be fun! Unless, of course...You don't wanna be the scared piece of shit victim again right?" Brittney glared at him.

Adam gasps, "N-no!" Adam covers his face with sheer sacredness.

Brittney laughed, "Good. Let's make this girl's life hell, shall we?" Brittney said as she got up from her seat and walked towards Connie.

Before we continue this flashback, you're probably thinking, "Dude, are you kidding me? This girl you hung out with is a bitch! Why hang out with her?!" Am I right?

Well... When I first came here, I felt like I didn't belong.

Most kids there always picked on me and called me names.

Telling me to do certain things or they'll kick my ass.

I didn't have anyone by my side. Until I met Brittney, She was nice, caring, and always ready to kick ass.

But back then, I didn't expect her to be such a bitch..so that's why.

I didn't know she was such an asshole to other people until Connie came around.

Anyway, back to the flashback!

"Hey, deaf girl, how ya doing?" Brittney asked. Connie looked up at her and smiled.

"Heh..fucking weirdo. I know you can't hear me with those shitty eardrums of yours but I just wanted you to know that no one here will be there for you." Brittney said.

Connie just kept smiling at her. "Tch..the hell are you smiling about?" Brittney asked. Connie tits her head in confusion.

"Freak," Brittney said as she pushed Connie.

"Hey! Brittney, knock it off," Adam said, walking over to them. "Whatever.." Brittney sat back down.

Adam looked at Connie and offered his hand. " Are you alright, Connie? " he said. She grabbed his hand and pulled herself up.

"Oh, right.." Adam grabbed his pencil and wrote down

"Sorry about her. My name's Adam, It's nice to meet you." Connie nodded and wrote, "It's alright; nice to meet you too! I hope we can become good friends." Adam smiled at her and nodded.
