Christmas Eve. Tomorrow is Christmas. Everyone is happy and full of joy and can’t wait to spend time with their families!

Well..all except for one. “Damn it damn it damn it!! Where is it?!” Adam said.

Adam is francilly trying to find the gift that is now gone. He has been searching since yesterday and this morning.

“It was in my damn bag! How did it leave?!” Adam said.

“Adam? You okay?” Julia asked, knocking on his door. “Yea mom, I’m..I’m fine!” Adam said.

“Doesn’t sound like it, I heard yelling and stuff moving around in here so I thought to check up on you.” Julia said, slightly opening the door.

Adam smiles at her, “Don’t worry mom, I just lost something. Nothing to worry about.” Adam said.

“You sure?” Julia asked. “Yeah mom, thank you though.” Adam said.

“Alright, well..if you need me I’m downstairs.” Julia said, closing the door and walking back downstairs.

Adam sits down by the edge of his bed and thinks. Damn..I don’t know what happened to it..

Think Adam think! It could’ve fallen out but that would be impossible because my bag was zipped..so how..

Wait a minute. Adam stands up and begins pacing around his room.

“If the bag was zipped up, but the gift is gone. That means someone unzipped my bag and grabbed it! But who..” Adam thinks back to whoever he interacted with when he got the gift.

Damn that’s a lot of people..Shit that would take too long though..Come on think!

There is only one person who comes to Adam’s mind. “Amber.” Adam said. Adam grabs his hoodie and runs out the door.

“I’ll be back mom!” Adam yelled from outside. “Alright honey!” Julia said.

Adam runs to Amber’s house, with a very angry look on his face. That bitch..

I knew it..I fucking knew I couldn't trust her. Come on faster!

Adam runs as fast as he could to Amber’s house. Hoping that his hunch is correct.

Adam makes it to her house and starts knocking on the door. “Amber!” Adam said. No answer.

“Amber I know your home, open up!” Adam said. After he said that, the door opened up.

“Oh hey Adam! Nice to see you!” Amber said. “Where is it?” Adam asked.

“Where’s what?” Amber said. “Don’t play dumb with me. Where the hell is it?” Adam asked.

“Adam, I don’t know what you’re talking about, but do you wanna come inside?” Amber asked.

“Glady.” Adam moves past Amber and towards her room.

“Hey hey this is to fast ya know. But I’m not complaining.” Amber smirked.

“Shut up.” Adam said as he starts searching every cabinet and drawer he sees.

“What are you looking for..?” Amber asked.

“The gift.” Adam said. “What gif-..Ohhh the gift you got for Connie?” Amber asked.

“YES! Now where the hell is it? I know you took it from my bag.” Adam said.

Amber laughs, “What? Why would I do that?” Amber said.

“Because you hate her.” Adam said. “Why would I hate her? Connie is a great friend and I think you need to calm down. I didn’t take anything.” Amber said.

“But..” Adam said. “Look just calm down. I’m sure you must’ve dropped it somewhere.” Amber said.

“But there’s no way..the zipper was up.” Adam said.

“Maybe there was a tiny gap where the gift fell out and you just didn’t realize it.” Amber said.

Could..could she be telling the truth? “How about this. I’ll go and buy a new one.. And I’ll send it to you tomorrow, that way you can surprise her!” Amber said.

“That..that would be good.” Adam said. I’ll go along with this for now..I have a weird feeling about this though.

“Awesome! Alright well, you go back to your house and help decorate with your mom, I’m sure you two are planning on making your house look pretty nice.” Amber said.

“Uh yeah, Anyway I’m gonna head out now.” Adam said as he started walking towards the door.

“Wait!” Amber said, grabbing Adam’s hand. “Can’t you stay?” Amber smiles up at Adam.

“No. Now let go.” Adam yanks his arm away from her and walks outside and closes the front door. Amber watches as the door closes.

She forms a wide smile on her face, “Too fucking close..” She said.

-AN HOUR LATER-

Adam makes it back to his house where his mom is currently decorating the outside of the house with Christmas lights that have many different colors on each bulb.

“Hey mom.” Adam said. “Hey honey! How are you?” Julia asked.

“I’m fine mom, do you need help with any of these?” Adam asked.

“As a matter of fact I do, can you grab the staple gun and hook up the other lights for me?” Julia asked.

Adam nodded and walked to the garage which is open and grabbed the staple gun.

He started to staple most of the lights when Julia started up a conversation.

“So, are you excited for Christmas?” Julia asked. “I am.” Adam said.

“You’re gonna love what I got you!” Julia said.

“Oh really? Well in that case, tell me what you got.” Adam said.

“Well I got yo- Hey I see what you’re trying to do here!” Julia said.

Adam laughed and continued stapling.

“What did you get Connie for Christmas?” Julia asked.

“A uh..a necklace with the words ‘I love you’ on it.” Adam said. I don’t want her to worry.

“Oh that’s so cute!” Julia said, hugging Adam. “You’re such a sweet kid.” Julia said.

“Thanks mom.” Adam chuckled. Adam finishes the stapling and puts the stapler back where he got it.

“I’m done mom.” Adam said. “Thanks son for helping! Love you.” Julia said.

“Love you too mom, I’m gonna head back inside.” Adam said.

Adam walks up the stairs and sits down on his bed.

“Fuck what am I gonna do..” Adam mumbled.

The necklace is gone and Chirstmas is literally tomorrow..Fuck. Hopefully Amber can get it before tomorrow, even though I don’t trust her.. Damn it..what a mess.
