Chapter 23: Meeting Her Mom

Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh FUCK!! I’m not ready to meet her mom yet! WHAT DO I DO?!

“Well this is Luke, Brittany, and Adam!” Connie said in sign.

“Nice to meet you ma’am.” Brittany said, smiling.

“Hello!” Luke said. Connie’s mom then looked at Adam, waiting for a hello or anything.

“U-uh..Hi ma’am..” Adam said shyly. Her mom smiles at Adam.

“Nice to meet you all.” She said. “This is Lonnie, Connie’s little sister.” Her mom said, looking down at Lonnie.

She’s a bit smaller than Connie. “Sup.” Lonnie said. “Ah, I see what you did there. Smart.” Luke said.

“Hi Lonnie.” Adam said. Lonnie looks up at Adam and has this glare that’s just staring Adam down, it sends chills down his spine.

So intense..! “Anyway, Connie. I just wanted to know that you're safe and everything.” Her mom said in sign.

“Oh thanks mom! Would you like to join us for Thanksgiving dinner?” Connie asked in sign.

JESUS NO! I mean yeah, BUT IT’LL BE AWKWARD WHEN SHE DOESN’T KNOW THAT ME AND YOU ARE A THING!! Wait does she know?

“Oh that’d be lovely. Let’s sit down Lonnie.” Her mom said. “Sure.” Lonnie said.

They both sat down at the large dinner table. “Can I talk to you?” Adam said in sign, grabbing Connie’s hand.

“Oh! Sure.” Connie said in sign. They both walk inside of Adam’s house, He lets go of her hand and starts panick walking.

“Does she know that we’re dating?” Adam asked in sign. “No..not yet” Connie said in sign. 

Oh god I called it.. “Oh no..” Adam said in sign. “B-But don’t worry! I’ll tell her when I get that chance.” Connie said in sign.

“I know..I just..I never met a girl’s mom and it makes me nervous I might mess up or something.” Adam said in sign.

“Don’t worry, We’ll be okay.” Connie said in sign.

“I know we will.” Adam said in sign, hugging Connie. She blushes bright red and hugs back.

Connie has a small smile on her face. I love her smile so much. “Connie! Come out of the house for a second I need to ask you something!” Connie’s mom said in sign.

“Alright mom!” Connie said in sign. “I’ll go out first, come out after a few seconds.” Connie said in sign.

Adam gives her a thumbs up as she smiles at him and walks out. Oh my god this is gonna be hard..

After a few seconds pass, Adam walks out from the door But gets stopped by Lonnie.

“Hold it.” She said. “Whoa, hey Lonnie.” Adam said. “Are you dating my sister?” Lonnie asked with a serious look.

DID HE OVERHEAR US?! “N-No! Of course not!” Adam said. “Hmm..uh huh..Anyway look.” Lonnie starts saying.

Before she continues she gives Adam the stare. “She’s been through alot before we moved here, So I suggest taking hella good care of her if you are dating her.” Lonnie said.

“Wait what do you mean? Did something happen?” Adam asked.

Lonnie looks over at Connie who is sitting down with her mom, “Yeah. Something did happen.” She said.

“What happened?” Adam asked. “If it comes up I’ll tell you.” Lonnie said. She walked away soon as she said that.

The hell..? Now I’m curious. Adam walks out of his house and over towards the others.

He sees Connie and her mom talking but can’t make out what they're saying.

She looks..sad for some reason. Might as well, I’m curious. Adam walks around behind them so they can’t see him as he tip toes towards them.

But he stops just so he can hear what they're talking about.

“Did he ever make contact with you?” Her mom said. “No..he hasn’t. Not since we moved.” Connie said in sign.

“Good, I don’t want him around you ever..not after..what he did..” Her mom said in sign.

“Don’t worry mom, I’m fine, We are fine. Everyone here and met is amazing in every way shape and form..I love all my friends.” Connie said in sign, smiling.

Connie’s mom smiles at her, ”I’m glad to hear that baby.” she said in sign hugging her.

“Mooom! Not in front of everyone!” Connie said in sign. Adam backs up and sits down by the others.

What the hell..? What did she mean by him? Who’s him? Something bad happened..

I need to ask Lonnie later..I look at Lonnie who is by her sister and mom. She looks at me and gives me a nod, I nod back.

Good, we’ll talk later. We’ll be able to talk after dinner. “Alright everyone, Are you all ready for the massive Thanksgiving dinner?” Adam’s mom asked.

“Yeah!” Luke said. “You already know I am.” Brittany said. “I just want my drumstick..” Adam drooled.

“Turkey looks good.” Lonnie said. “I’m ready.” Connie’s mom said. “Ready as ever!” Connie said in sign.

“Awesome! But before we dig in, shall we all say what we’re thankful for? It is Thanksgiving after all.” Adam’s mom laughed.

“Aww..Can’t we just eat..?” Adam asked. “I mean you could, You just wouldn’t get your drumsticks.” Adam’s mom said.

“Alright let’s do it!” Adam said immediately, changing his mood.

“Before we start, I’d like to ask. Adam.” Connie’s mom said.

“Yeah?” Adam said. “Are you..perhaps..Dating my daughter?” Connie’s mom said.

“W-Why would you ask that?!” Adam asked. “Just seems like she’s around you a lot, I mean you both did go inside the house did you not?” She asked.

“I-I mean yeah! But..I had to use the restroom! Yeah!” Adam said. “What is she to you? Better be a damn friend.” She said, glaring at Adam.

SO SCARY! “S-She’s..A friend!” Adam said. “Is that so..?” She said.

“Mhm! Please don’t kill me..” Adam said. Suddenly she starts laughing.

“I’m just messing with ya! I know you wouldn’t do that.” Her mom said.

She leans in my ear and whispers, “But if you ever date her I will end you.” She said, smiling.

“YES MA’AM!” Adam said. “Alright! Everyone ready?” Adam’s mom said.

“Yeah!” Everyone said, except Adam. He looks over at Connie who gives him a thumbs up for not dying. Adam leans back in hid chair.

Jesus..what a mom..
