"It's nice to see you again, Adam," Brittany says. Out of all the schools she wants to go to, this one...I can't believe she's here.

"What do you want?" Adam said. I'm sensing some hostility here. Are you alright?" Brittany asked. No, I am not alright. Why are you here? I have no interest in talking to you," Adam said.

Brittany leans back in her chair. "Well, first off, I came here because my mom told me to, said we had to move or something I don't know, and second off, Look, Adam. If you're still mad about what happened three years ago, I'm sorry, " Brittany says.

"Bullshit you are. What you did back then was not okay at all. Look, I don't care if you changed; I don't wanna talk to you." Adam crossed his arms.

"Let me prove it to you! I've changed. I'm not the same girl I used to be back in middle school." Brittany said. "Tch, even if you did change, it's gonna take a lot to change my mind." Adam looked at Brittany with a severe look.

"Ooo, very scary! What other faces do you have?" Brittany laughed. "Ah, shut up!." Adam said.

"Alright, settle down, students! Class is now starting! " the teacher said. Adam put his head down on the seat and looked towards the board.

Adam sighs, I can't believe this...Of all people to be here...Why did it have to be her?

Still, if she's true to her word that she's "changed," she'll have to prove it.

-1 HOUR LATER-

Please, please let it end already. It's been too long for the teacher to just go on about blah, blah, blah. There are so many words, and they can't compute.

-RING-

"YES!" Adam yelled. Every student looked at Adam and nodded in agreement. I'm surprised they didn't laugh...

"Alright, class. Remember to do this week's homework, which is due before the weekend. Have a good day, everyone. "

The students got up and started walking out. "Oh, hey Brittany, I've been having some trouble with this assignment. Could you help me out?" one student asked.

Adam grabs his bag and gets up. "Oh yeah, sure!" Brittany smiles. She's trying; I'll give her that, but I don't buy it.

Adam walks out of the classroom to see Connie waiting for him. Heh, she's so cute. Wait, what? Ugh, get a grip, dude! You can't date, not after what happened with her.

Adam shakes off this feeling for now and walks over towards Connie. Connie notices Adam and waves at him. "Hey, Connie," Adam says in a sign. Hey, Adam! How was your class?" Connie asks in a sign.

"It was boring, I'm not gonna lie, and not okay," Adam says in a sign. Connie shakes her head. "Why's that?" Connie asks in a sign.

"Um...Brittany's here.." Adam says in sign. Connie gasps, "She's here? Where is she?" Connie asks in sign. Adam points towards his classroom.

Connie rushes over to Adam's classroom and walks inside. "Hey, wait!" Adam catches up with her.

When he walks in, he sees Connie waving at Brittany, and she waves back. Wait, huh? "What's going on right here?" Adam asks, signifying.

"Well, since Brittany's here, I figured we could be friends," Connie smiles. "HUH!?! But why?" Adam asks in sign language.

"I want to forget about the past, Adam. Yes, she did some bad things in the past, but I want to focus on the present, not the past. And what if she changed?" Connie asks in a sign.

Changed...I want to believe that, but...It's hard. "I want to believe that, but...It's just hard, I guess." Adam says in sign.

Connie smiles. "Everyone deserves a second chance, Adam, even her, " she says in a sign. Adam looks at Brittany and sees her laughing with a couple of girls.

Maybe Connie's right. I mean, does she deserve a second chance? Adam walks up to Brittany. "Brittany," Adam says. She turns to Adam. "Yes?" she asks.

Adam holds out his hand for a shake. "Let's bury the hatchet," Adam says. Brittany looks at Adam's hand and smiles; she shakes it.

"Let's do it, " she says. I'll go along with this for now. I just don't trust her yet. "Alright, well, it's time for the second period. What do you have?" Adam asked.

"English, I believe. You?" Brittany asks. "Science, " Adam says. Adam turns around towards Connie. "What about you, Connie? What class do you have?" Adam asks in sign language.

"English, I need to try using my voice. It's very hard to do, but I want to try." Connie says in sign language. Does she have English, too?

Wait, that means... "Oh, awesome! We have the same English class, Connie!" Brittany says in sign. Connie jumps up with joy, "Yay!" Connie says in sign.

"Hey, wait a minute. Do you know sign language?! Since when?!" Adam asked. Brittany giggled. "I learned it a while ago. I figured I might need to learn it someday," Brittany said.

I mean, to be fair, that is a good skill to have. "Anyway, come on. We gotta get to our next class before the bell rings! Come on, Connie!" Brittany says in a sign.

"Right. See you in a bit, Adam!" Connie says in a sign and smiles. "Yeah, see ya," Adam says in sign. The three of them waved bye at each other and went their separate ways.

"Alright..where's the science room?" Adam looks around for the word "science." Did she change? Maybe so; Connie seems happy about it.

Well..as long as she's happy, I'm so glad. Adam spots the words "Science Room" right above a door. "Finally found it," Adam says as he walks in.

Adam looks around the room, filled to the brim with..science stuff. Adam takes a seat and waits for the other students to walk in.

A couple of minutes passed, and students started coming in one after the other. "Ah... finally done with that class...Now, where's my seat again?" someone asked.

Adam looked up to see who that was, to his surprise. "Luke!! " he yelled. Luke looked at the person who had just yelled his name. "Adam!!" Luke yelled.

"You got this class too?" Adam asked.

Luke nodded, "Yep! Do you want to sit together?" Luke asked. Hell yeah, this is going to be fun," Adam said.
