KAIRO ROSALES

It was the day I made very first step in reaching my dream; the day where I let myself freed from the chain of past and conquer the real battle at the present.

I never knew I could able to do this...  partly yes, I must say. I'm just an arrogant loner guy who joins illegal racing for money. And now, look at me; far from my old self.

Hindi ko suot akalain na posible pala ito para sa isang katulad ko.

I heaved a deep sigh as my mind started to reminisce the day where it all started. Naalala ko pa ang araw na 'yon na nakikipagkarera ako kay Xross, and then the fucking police came. From that time, the only thing I want to do was to escape from those donut-craving idiots. Then an accident happened; my baby Aston Martin Vanquish and I crashed in an effin' tree. Then I woke up with Coach Winston holding a letter— a letter that brought me to where I am now.

A letter from Raceworth Academy.

Welcome to Raceworth Academy: School of racers, rookie!

You are now one of our lucky trainees.

After that hellish day, I was brought by an my father's former annoying race mentor— which happened to by mentor now — in that prestigious isolated school. A school that erected in a secluded island. I'm still wondering why the fuck Mr. Raceworth decided to erect this academy in an island? Anyhow, it doesn't matter.

In this academy, I've been met lot of annoying people; and later on, finally learned how to cope up with them. This few pips used to support, eat with me every eating time, bond with me and annoy me all the time— which I found touching . . . as cringey as it seems.

Also, here, I've been challenged in many things. Both racing or educational stuff. Which added fuel to my flame to continue striving.

I worked harder, trained harder— show them how this kiddo can crush 'em inside the racing field.

To sum it all, lot of things happened to me. Hindi 'yon naging madali. Buong dugo, pawis at luha ang inalay ko para maabot ang gusto ko.

Yet I can say, that was also a enjoyable ride I won't ever forget...

This is not all about my sacrifices and hardships that made my win the race but those people behind me, who's been cheering and supporting me since the day one.

A smile formed in my lips as those memories flashed in my mind. It will definitely help me in my other races. This is just the beginning . . . so I must strive hard more. Can't wait to crush them once again.

"A round of applause for the debut race of our Kairo Rosales in Philippine Racing Cup!" Nabalik ako sa katotohanan nang may magsalita, followed by a round of applause.

Lahat sila ay nakangiti sa akin habang pumapalakpak. I can see Coach and my friends smiling at me at the corner— they must be proud of me. Nginitian ko lang sila bilang ganti.

I think I should cope up with those eyes looking at me.

Bilang selebrasyon, nagkaroon ng party dito sa school garden. Naalala ko tuloy ang araw na nilinis namin 'to. Lahat ng mga trainee at studyante ay naririto upang maki-celebrate ng una kong panalo. Mr. Raceworth even did invite some known people on this party.
