Maya POV

I got back from my run feeling so much better. Carina had pretty much ticked all the remaining tasks off my list and had started making dinner. I don't know what I'd do without her.

I quickly showered and threw on some comfy clothes before joining Elva on the sofa.

"Elvie?"

She looked up at me from the other end of the sofa.

"Come here," I smiled, opening my arms for her.

She crawled along and snuggled into me, getting herself comfy in my arms with her head resting on my chest.

"You know Jane's coming here tomorrow right?" I asked her.

I felt her nod against my boobs.

"I don't want her to," she said.

"I know bubba but it's another step closer to you staying her permanently," I assured her.

"But she shouts,"

"Trust me bub, Carina and I won't let her shout at you," I said.

"Maya?" She said, pushing up off my chest and looking up at me with her big eyes.

"Yes sweetie?"

"If she doesn't like it, will she just take me ?" She said, looking away from me.

I sighed.

"I really don't know how it works bub. I hope not and I don't see a reason why she wouldn't think this place is ok," I said, trying to convince myself as well.

"This is nicer than a lot of places they put me," she said sadly.

"You belong here sweetie, we're gonna do everything we can."

I kissed her head and pulled her back down, wrapping my arms tightly around her.

Five minutes later, Carina called us.

"Bambine, dinners ready!"

"Come on, up you get," I said, lifting her off my lap.

"Nooo," she wined, trying to snuggle back into me.

"Snuggles after dinner, let's go," I said jumping up.

I had a feeling she was going to play up a little, she's tired, and she'll have some anxiety about tomorrow.

"Hmmm babe, this smells amazing," I announced, trying to ignore Elva's protests about coming to the dining table.

"Thank you my love," Carina said, pecking my lips and sitting down.

"Come on bub," I said, encouraging Elva to sit between Carina and I.

Reluctantly she climbed up on her chair.

I started eating and tried to not pay too much attention to the fact Elva hadn't picked up her form yet. But she needed to eat.

"I know you're nervous about tomorrow sweetheart but you need to try and have something. I'll cut it up for you," I finally said after a few minutes. I saw her hand go up to grab on to her hair.

"Ahh ahhh Elva no," Carina said, reaching to move her hand.

"Noooo," she cried out, gripping on with her other hand.

She started to pull at her hair and the tears began to fall. My heart ached for her.

I looked up at Carina, not knowing what to do.
