Maya POV

I managed to get Elva home just before she threw up again.

The second we entered the apartment, she sprinted off towards the bathroom. I rushed after her and quickly grabbed her hair to move it out the way.

"Oh Elvie, it's okay bubba," I said as I gently rubbed her back.

"M-mommy-" she cried before throwing her head back down the toilet.

"Mommy's got you bub," I assured her.

When she was finished, she sat up and slumped against the toilet.

"Let's get you cleaned up sweetheart," I said, turning and running her a bath.

I kept the water fairly cool to attempt to bring down her temperature a little.

I stripped her out of my t-shirt and helped her climb into the bath.

She shivered a little.

"Cold mommy,"

I felt the water. It wasn't cold at all.

"It's not baby and I can't make it any warmer, you'll get burnt and you're too warm already," I explained sadly.

She slipped down the bath a little, I put my arm out to catch her. She was so weak and had zero energy.

"Let me go get you some medicine Elvie," I said, quickly heading into the kitchen.

I was gone less than a minute when I re-entered the bathroom and found her slouched against the side of the bath.

"Oh bubba, come her let's get this down you," I said, opening the medicine bottle.

"Open up sweetie,"

I held it to her mouth. She drank it but scrunched up her face.

"Good girl," I smiled softly.

"Mommy," she said, holding her arms out to me.

"Let's get you out then," I smiled.

I lifted her out and wrapped her in a grey, fluffy towel around her, scooped her up and carried her through to her bedroom.

It was still only early afternoon but I dressed her in pyjamas so she could at least be comfortable.

I quickly messaged Carina to let her know that Elva, in my opinion, was getting worse.

She replied saying again that I needed to keep her fluids up.

I sighed knowing that was easier said than done, especially when she was throwing up anything she had.

*Carina, I'm worried* I messaged her.

*I'll be home as soon as I can bellina- I'm not needed for the trauma any more but still have a couple of patients labouring* she replied.

I looked up from my phone when I heard Elva whimper. She clutched onto her head in pain.

I very quickly got myself changed out of my uniform and into lounge wear and went back to get Elva from her room.

"Come here baby girl," I said.

I grabbed a spare towel on the way out.

I took her with me through to the kitchen and took my bottle I use when I go for a run and filled it with water.

I lay down on the sofa and leant against the side. I switched on the tv and clicked on the first children's film I could find. She wouldn't watch it but it would be a bit of a distraction for her and some background noise.
