Maya POV

"Elva can you have a drink please, you've not had one in hours," I said firmly.

"No thank you mommy," she said innocently.

"It wasn't a question bubs, drink," I said, handing her my bottle of water.

She reluctantly put her colouring pens down and took the tiniest of sips.

"More please," I said seriously.

She took another sip and put the bottle down. I sighed and shook my head I wasn't going to keep going with her like this.

The station was beginning to get a little packed. The weather had worsened over the last couple of hours. Luckily, nobody had shown up with major injuries. The team and I were just a little rushed of our feet attempting to make sure everyone was alright.

"Captain, you're needed upstairs," Hughes said, popping into my office.

"Urgently," she added.

"Elva stay here sweetheart, I'll be back," I said calmly, heading towards the door.

She looked up at me panicked and I knew she wasn't gonna let me go easily.

"What's going on?" I asked Vic, quickly heading out before Elva had a chance to stop me.

"Two women are arguing over where they were sitting. And one says the other is giving her husband eyes." She informed me.

"How pathetic," I sighed, rolling my eyes and walking upstairs.

"I'll stay with Elva," she called after me.

"Thank you," I shouted back.

Once I'd warned the two women that they'd have to leave if they didn't quit it, they soon quietened down again. I was about to go to the beanery and grab lunch for Elva and I when I felt two arms snake around my waist.

I whipped my head around and my eyes landed on a smiling Carina, who was looking incredibly cute in her pink scrubs.

"What are you doing here?" I asked with a smile.

"I mentioned to Bailey that you were housing civilians and the hospital already has so many people so she told me to come help here just incase," she explained.

"That's great, thank you," I said relieved with the extra help.

"And I get to spend the day watching you as Captain," she winked.

"The only thing you've missed is me breaking up a cat fight," I laughed.

"So what do you need me to do?" She asked.

"Hey, Dr DeLuca," Vic said, walking up the stairs with Elva.

"Ciao," Carina smiled, holding her hand up.

"Mama!" She smiled happily, running over to Carina who lifted her into her arms.

"Hello my bambina," she grinned, holding her close.

"No hospital?" Elva asked.

"No bella, they sent me to help here," Carina told her.

"So you're working?" She pouted sadly.

"Only if I'm needed," She smiled, kissing her forehead.

"Okay so your first job is to get our daughter to drink something," I laughed.

Carina rolled her eyes playfully and followed me into the beanery with Elva still in her arms.
