Maya POV
I woke up feeling a weight and pressure on top of me. Opening my eyes, I realised Elva had shimmied herself on top of my body and was still fast asleep with her head on my chest.
I sighed peacefully and stroked her messy hair down her back. I reached over to grab my phone, seeing a message already there from Carina from a few hours earlier.
Carina 💕
Arrived at Selene's, going to try and sleep off the jet lag. Have a good day bellina, give Elva a big hug from her mama xI quickly snapped a picture of Elva snuggled up to me and sent it to Carina, letting her know we were both missing her. Realising the time and remembering that I didn't have Carina to help with the morning routine, I decided to start getting ready a little earlier. I carefully rolled Elva off of me and back over to Carina's side of the bed.
Quietly sneaking out, I quickly grabbed a towel and headed into the bathroom. I stood under the hot water, relaxing as it covered my body before taking the shampoo bottle.
I smiled to myself when I heard the door open.
"Mommy," Elva said, making herself known.
"Morning Elvie," I chuckled, my eyes still closed as I shampooed.
Opening my eyes, I saw that she'd climbed up onto the counter beside the sink.
"You know auntie Andy always used to interrupt mommy's morning showers too," I told her as she sat innocently swinging her legs.
"How did you even get up there?" I asked as I grabbed the conditioner.
"I climbed on the toilet seat," she admitted, not seeing anything wrong with that.
"You're so cheeky," I laughed.
"Help mommy then Elvie, can you hand me the towel?" I asked her as I switched off the water.
I watched her reach for it and then pass it my way. I wrapped it around me and stepped out the shower.
"Come on you," I smiled, lifting her down off the side.
"Go choose your clothes while I get dressed baby," I instructed, removing the towel for around me.
"Mommy do it," she said, climbing back into mine and Carina's bed.
"No Elvie, mommy needs to get herself ready for work. Be a big girl and go get your clothes," I said firmly.
"Elva," I warned when she didn't move.
Reluctantly she climbed out of bed to go to her room. I got myself dried and dressed for the day before quickly plugging in the hairdryer.
On the way through to the kitchen, I popped my head around Elva's bedroom door to find her playing with her toys.
"Elva, I asked you to get dressed," I sighed.
"But mommy I saw my fire truck," she explained.
"No buts baby, let's get dressed," I said, walking into her room.
I took her clothes out of the draw and lifted her up off the floor. I helped her to get dressed and picked up her hairbrush, brushing the messy bed hair and and tying it into two pig tails.
"There, one beautiful little love," I admired when she was ready.
"Now breakfast," I said, holding out my hand for her.
"No mommy, I want to play," she wined.
"Breakfast first Elva," I said seriously.
"Mommy toys," she protested.
