Maya POV
"Right Elvie, we've got lots to do," I said, carrying her on my hip into the apartment.
"I can help you mommy," she said as I placed her down on the sofa.
"I don't know how much help you'll be with that poorly knee," I sighed still sad that she'd had stitches.
"It's starting to hurt again," Elva pouted.
"The anaesthetic shot that Dr Amelia gave you will be wearing off. Mommy can give you some pain relief though," I assured her, running my hand through her ponytail and heading into the kitchen.
I reached up to the medicine cupboard and grabbed the bottle I needed and quickly made Elva a drink of juice.
"Here Elva, hold your cup for me," I said, handing her the drink.
I opened the bottle of ibuprofen and poured a dose out onto a spoon.
"Open for mommy," I said softly, holding the spoon to her mouth.
"Good girl", I praised when she drank it, her face scrunching up at the taste.
"Drink your juice bubba," I smiled.
"Yucky mommy," she frowned after taking a big drink.
"But you did so good," I told her.
"Why don't you pick a movie to watch while I make a start clearing out Winnie's new room?" I suggested, knowing she couldn't really move around too much just yet.
"With you mommy?" She asked hopefully.
"Bubba," I chuckled, having just explained what I'd be doing.
"I've got to sort out the bedroom," I added, sitting on the sofa beside her.
I put my arm around her small frame and pulled her close to me.
"Ten minutes," I whispered, earning a little giggle from her.
She chose Frozen.
"Look Elvie, it's like you and Winter," I said, pointing to Anna and Elsa playing.
"We didn't play in the snow though," she said looking up at me and tilting her head to the side.
"Maybe you can next winter. It might snow again at Christmas and you can make another snowman," I suggested, trying to remain positive.
Elva had sadly reminded me that her and Winter's experience in the snow was very different. They were forced to remain outside without warm clothes, not run around having fun.
"Mommy?" Elva asked, grabbing my attention.
"Yes sweet girl?"
I stroked her hair off of her face and tucked it behind her was as he looked up at me with her big, innocent eyes.
"When Winter lives here, can she play with me?" Elva asked, playing with t-shirt.
"Of course she can, mama and I will buy some things that Winter might like too," I told her, knowing Winter might be a little old for Elva's dolls and fire trucks.
"And we don't have to be quiet?" She asked nervously.
"No El, why'd you ask that?" I questioned her.
"Winter said we always had to be quiet. We couldn't make any noise so we couldn't play," Elva shrugged sadly.
"Well I can't wait to hear you both talking and laughing together baby. You can make as much noise as you want," I told her honestly, unable to believe those words were coming from Maya Bishop's mouth.
