Chapter 384
The adrenaline that continuously ran through Tre’s body for the entirety of the show was insane from the moment he was propelled up onto the platform with all the smoke and lights surrounding him, hearing the crowd going crazy until the sound of them immediately intensified as soon as Cheryl appeared on the top of the pyramid, making him discretely smile to himself even though he couldn’t actually see her yet as she was behind him. Instantly he was able to understand what Cheryl had been telling him about how incredible the atmosphere was, as his whole body began tingling as though it was just raring to go so that he wouldn’t physically explode, it actually being a relief when he heard the beat to tell him to start moving, the routine just coming naturally to him even though he hadn’t been able to do it for quite a few days now since his accident, but it was so engrained in his mind that it all came back to him as if he’d been doing it all along. He couldn’t keep the cheesy grin off his face as he joined the other guys who stood in a line with their arms out, until suddenly Cheryl launched herself off the top platform straight into their arms which caused and extra roar from the fans, before she quickly bounced up to sit on Tre and Tyrell’s shoulders, naturally giving Tre’s head an affectionate scratch before the two men lowered her back down to the ground where they all began dancing, managing to catch her eye which prompted her to give him a beaming smile, it being clear that both of them were having the time of their lives.Despite there being such a big fuss beforehand about this being such a big deal touring at the O2 arena, once Cheryl was up performing she seemed to automatically forget that it was such a huge, prestigious venue and treat it like any other, giving it her all just like she always did and just loved to see how happy her fans were whenever she took a good look out into the crowd, hearing them singing her lyrics back to her and dancing away throughout. The only thing that had made the show slightly different, was singing ‘3 Words’ with Will I Am which the crowd went crazy for, and then she’d also brought Wretch 32 onto the stage to perform ‘Screw You’ with her as well, actually making it all seem much more fun and exciting, than nerve-wracking as would have been expected. By the time the encore version of ‘Call My Name’ began playing at the very end, Cheryl’s cheeks were actually aching like crazy from smiling so much, her grin having become wider each time she caught sight of Tre who had looked like he’d been having the best time ever and had accidently been whooping and cheering out loud like he always did when they were rehearsing, it just being lucky that the music was so loud that nobody could really hear him.
With what felt like a total dreamlike, out of body experience, Cheryl finally launched herself into the pit through the hole that had opened in the stage after singing her final line, the sound of the audience being just as loud, however the lights immediately disappeared as she was left in the dark tunnel on the crash mat, breathing heavily and not quite believing she’d just carried out a solo show at the biggest arena in the country where all the massive international superstars played at. It was only when one of the men who worked backstage suddenly gave her arm a gentle squeeze did she snap out of the trance she’d slipped into from listening to all the cheering, did she finally sit up and take his hand so he could guide her through the dark tunnel back into the open space behind the stage, her dimples coming back out immediately as she could spot the frame of a tall, handsome man waiting for her at the other end. No words were even needed as the couples eyes instantly met and communicated everything they were both feeling; Tre feeling so proud of her as always and genuinely thought she was the greatest woman he’d ever met; whilst Cheryl just couldn’t quite believe she’d been so lucky as to find somebody that not only had truly become the love of her life without question, but who she could also share these amazing experiences with that she wouldn’t have with anybody else. Tre had wrapped his arms around her as soon as she’d reached him whilst she did exactly the same back to him, both of them closing their eyes and simply holding each other tightly to take in what an incredible experience they’d just shared together, as the sound of the fans all excited still even though the show had finished continued to reverberate around the walls. “I love you” Tre quietly mumbled against her ear whilst his head rested over her shoulder, not feeling like he actually needed to say anything else as he was sure she knew what he was feeling right now due to her probably feeling exactly the same herself.
“I love you too” she clarified his thoughts by saying all that needed to be said as well, soothingly rubbing the tops of his arms with her thumbs whilst she continued hugging him, her legs feeling quite jelly like due to the adrenaline still pumping around her body making her feel like she should still be dancing and not just standing still for probably the first time in nearly 2 hours. The couple hadn’t even noticed that Gary was secretly filming them with the camcorder that they were still being urged to use at any given opportunity for the documentary, ignoring the fact they were being soppy which normally he hated, but thought how they were both reacting right now was a clear explanation of how much this tour meant to Cheryl and what a special moment suddenly coming off the stage was after pulling of such an amazing show.
